Old Guys Rule- the boogie meant to Die

I really hoped to when I thought we had the skyvan. If it's just the Kingair it will be a little harder, but not impossible. I'll have my suit, and smoke bracket. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -
Old Guys Rule- the boogie meant to Die

And the hits just keep on coming. Bill Dause's other otter is still up in Canada and won't be available, short of a miracle. He needs his other planes for the Freefly festival this weekend. So, I'm looking for more turbine aircraft on the West Coast, if anybody knows of any. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -

So up until 4pm yesterday (Thursday) I thought we had the Perris Skyvan coming, then I find out that BJ Worth has all their planes for a commercial filming. So I check back-up, and more expensive due to ferry fees, Skydive Arizona van, which while available has no pilot because they are two pilots down and the Rocky Point Boogie is the same weekend. So now we're hoping for the Lodi Otter, at least for Saturday. But what will make it worth while? The Only Boogie outside of Montana that will have 11 cases of Lang Beer on the premises. So come and play. Saturday, April 26th. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -

Mountainsky1 is right. We all thought Roger was a nice guy. I jumped with him, did CRW, stayed at his house and had dinner with him many times. We were all blown away to find out he was "wired" that way. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Dennis Shrieber and Mad John both turn 60 that week (Dennis is the older one) , so they're trying to get a big Turbine to Byron that weekend.(Skyvan) Also in the plans is a shipment of Lang Ale from Montana. Come up, out, down and help us celebrate. Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -

OK, Jeff. I'm finally moved to hop in here at the jeopardy of mellowing my reputation. There have not been "a lot of people" in that situation with me. One thing I have not seen mentioned at all here is the concept of canopy transfer. It's not covered in first jump courses, for good reason - students have enough knowledge to sort through in their decision making process in emergencies. But for a low-speed mal at a low altititude it could be the best alternative, at least it should be discussed. and Phil, maybe we'll finally perform the whole song again some year. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Billy Three told me it was going to be in SoCal in early April, before my 60th on the 24th. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Lisa, Pretty sure I've got it. How come you missed the Byron Boogie? madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -
You made the right choice, Byron didn't clear until late in the day but it was beautiful when it did. Monterey does have a great view almost all the time. Give us a try at Byron next time you're out this way. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

PhreeZone, thanks for making the mod. I haven't come across any threads about personal info here but I totally agree it's probably not a good idea. Numbnuts that I am, the idea of someone trolling DZ.com to find the addresses of young girls is too far whacked out beyond Stephen King for me to contemplate. MY focus was on making their first Birthday without their father maybe a little more bearable. So I will apologize to Corrine when I see her, and to all of you whose first reaction was "What the hell were you thinking Mad John?" I hope your second reaction was to send cards. Naive and getting older, Madjohn
