  1. Bolas, you're a shoe-in for the naked horny gorilla over the Blue Hole. cya there, madjohn
  2. Not sure who's in charge of that, but more info: Dinner Friday and Saturday by Carroll Shaw, for non-Byronites our motto is "if Carroll cooks it, eat it" it's that good, always. Registration is $10. Boogie Jumps are $20, don't know why. more if I find out more. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  3. This year's Byron Boogie is a little earlier, running from Friday the 18th to Sunday the 20th. Friday night features karaoke, with a new song from Vic and Connie. Saturday night has cooking by Carroll. Planes are the Pac 750 and Kingair. More information available on FaceBook (I've been told) Current jump tickets are $17, I hope they're the same for the Boogie. Organizing by the Usual Byron Folk. Weather should be awesome. madjohn (because no one else got around to it) Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  4. Finally going to jump with Yo Mama. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  5. Clay Bonavito became the First (yes he bought beer) 3-time winner of the Annual Byron Tracking Contest by narrowly edging out Kevin Townsend (Tall Guy) who opened at 4K and watch Clay track past. Everyone who knows Tall Guy is encouraged to give him shit until next year, he'll really appreciate it. Eric Bustos came in third. Chaovalai Chulasawan (nickname Chavi) became the first woman to win the novice category and joins Renatte Otto and Lisa Ewald as female winners. For historical records, Renatte Otto was the only skydiver to win the Tracking Triple Crown by winning the Lodi, Lost Prairie, and Byron tracking contests. Dave Filippo came in 2nd for the second time and newcomer Stevie (sorry, can't find his last name, began with a G) came in 3rd. Always work on your tracking skills, besides pulling and flaring it's the best way to save your life. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  6. Well, Mikie and Lena are coming back, so that's a big plus. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  7. And despite the Alaskan Coozie, it was most likely a Lang in his hand. madjohn
  8. Also known as Party Ken, Ken Knigge has been a fixture at Lost Prairie for the past several years. A great guy, his Byron Family will miss him as well as all the LP folk who have met him. blue skies Ken, Say "HI" to Shannon and JP. madjohn
  9. Doc, Better their shirts up than their pants down. At least for the 90% male jumpers. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  10. OK, University Girl. and Chateau Mad John will be there. And Bolas: You're right and you're wrong. You're just 2 nu 2 No. madjohn

Otherwise what am I going to drink for 10 days/nights? madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

  14. Larry was my role model when I first started jumping, even though he was younger. Haven't seen him in years but he's the reason I still own a Racer. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  15. You're a class act, Grimmster. Of course I'd never admit that in public. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  16. From the letter they sent out to clients, it looks like it's a done dea in a few weeks. They're selling all their remaining beer at a discount. We can only hope that Stinky buys up a bunch and sticks it in the back fridge. I'm still in denial. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  17. Buy a Megamillions Lottery ticket (yeah, I know the odds suck, I'm a math teacher) and hope to save the Lang Creek Brewery in Montana from closing. Those of you that know Lost Prarie, or of LP, know that the Lang Brewery has become a major part of the experience, either by jumping in, ground crewing or spectating the demo. Unfortunately, the economic downturn has hit the new owners too. (nice people, met them last year) and they are forced to close the brewery in a couple of weeks. We had a skydiver Wake in SF tonight but came up with the idea that if every skydiver bought 1 Mega millions ticket tomorrow (Grand Prize 150+ million) bailing out Lang would be a great way to celebrate your winnings, besides being a hero to many skydivers, world wide. So please pass this on to your skydiving friends ASAP blue skies and cold Lang madjohn PS No longer a share holder, but want to keep drinking LANG. Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  18. Grimster, and all other LP devotees, This is not April Fools. Lang Creek Brewery is going out of business in a couple of weeks. Whatever effects the economy downturn has had, it has affected the owners and they are cutting their losses. As I see it, the only chance we have to maintain what has become a good part of the LP experience is for a skydiver to win the MegaMillions lottery on Friday and buy the Brewery. Even Tall Guy, who always gives me shit about buying lottery tickets is considering it. So spread the work to all the skydivers you know, let's save this for US. blue skies and cold Lang beer, Madjohn
  19. We have a winner. Eat your hearts out all you other DZ.commies. well done, Grimmster. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  20. So were gonna be SkyMama legal in 2 days, who's gonna be first to start the LP 2009 thread? Place your bets ladies and gentlemen, and you real skydivers (that one's for you, Grimmster) madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  21. Hey, we discovered last year that you ain't old, when you couldn't be on the SOS load. So you kids are invited to jump with me always. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  22. Hey, Doc, We've only got a few more days (25th) and we're legal. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
  23. I'm too old to remember. When does Skymama let us start the LP "too many people with time on their hands and posting needless stuff just to keep in touch" thread? madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
