Seperation - near collision during deployment

five seconds delay sounds a little short. my lowest comfort-level when doing a solo starts with 7, but it depends all on the speed of the uppers. when it's hauling even 15 to 20 seconds can be to quick. and ending up 20 feet away on a deploying canopy would have me swearing and cursing for the rst of the ride. i guess i'd quit for the rest of the day, to figure out what went wrong. as for the group before you being freefliers as well: did you ask what kind of routine they were doing? edit: speedy already provided you with the link i was searching for -
so you are telling me, that iraq was still at war with the u.s. - fine. next thing you are going tell me is that there never was something line a peace treaty between hitler-germany and the u.s. next time your government dosn't like whats going on in europe they are going to bomb the shit out of us, because we are still at war? i know why i usually stay out of s.c. for good The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

seems like a good piece of advice for yourself if someone approaches you with some advice, i'd try to listen, maybe it's something that i am missing completely. edit to add: but with 100 jumps you probably know all this and your are probably bulletproof & invincible anyway, so why should i give a ..... nevermind The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

there is no "single best book" on anything. if you want to learn anything take your time and read everything you can get your hands on. once you have finished this task you'll have a lot af book-knowledge, but little hands-on-knowledge. so my advice would be: read a lot but don't forget to discuss what you've read with your instructors, mentors or other jumpers btw: getting a friggin big log and filling it with jumps sounds like a good idea

DILIGAF if its legal in the u.s. of a? it works, it spares me endless time searching for music via p2p networks, it spares me broken links or corrupted files and it's cheap as hell. as long as they operate, i'll get music from them. if they close down - there will be another service doing similar business. and before i forget: don't get your knickers twisted because it's "not legal". i bet you never did anything illegal yourself, did you? What does that sentence mean? Strong did some tests in the 80's where the reserve was fired into the drogue on purpose. There was a report on that in Parachutist some 20 years ago. The test TM was (probably) wearing 3 parachutes, and had a huge bulk/load attached to his front, probably to simulate the passenger. The conclusion was that there is a VERY slim probability that the reserve will entangle with the drogue. and this is one of the reasons why i like strong-systems (yeah i know, they don't look pretty and are old technique yaddayadda...)
