  1. What has socialism have to do with this. I live in a socialist country and we have to pay for our own ipod´s. It is more a capitalist thing to lay people off when you have to meet a budget, and the ipod thing looks to me like a PR campaign.
  2. Are you trying to say something? We all know that you don´t have what it takes to say that face to face, but came on, you are hidding behind a keyboard, what is the worst that can happen, getting banned again? No class Juanesky, no class at all.
  3. What i am saying is that because a law doesn´t stop people from breaking it it doesn´t mean that the law should be disregarded. Likewise no law has stopped a teenager from drinking however, it may have made more dificult for some to get wasted everyweekend. JR is against any gun control law because he says that they don´t stop criminals from getting guns. It may not stop all criminals, however it will make it harder so overall it is a good thing. In spain you can get a gun however since there is not that many it is much harder to get one. Most of the criminals do not have one. Your analogy is a good one, however getting a gun is optional, havinga penis is not.
  4. Pedophiles ignore rape laws, should we disregard rape laws altogether?
  5. No worries, i hate politics. It is all so dirty and hipocritical... Anyways, i enjoy blowjobs and it seems it is a big no-no in politics...
  6. I think that going after the Taliban in afghanistan was not a very stupid move since the U.S had the support of most of the world, even if none of the terrorists responsible were afghans. Anyway, I would have investigated more thoroughly the Saudi connections, even if it meant to discover something ugly about your oil buddies. I wouldn´t have spent all the "political capital" in something thas was not related to the 9/11 incident like the war with Iraq. I think that if you really had to piss people off it would have been much more productive to invest in intelligence to catch/kill terrorists than began a full scale war where a lot of civilians would get killed or maimed and their families would most likely join the terrorists ranks.
  7. I think that the biggest asset that terrorism can have is human capital, and not economical capital. After the Madrid and London bombings it is quite clear that you don´t need much money to kill a lot of people. However you do need radical crazy extremists to do the deed in order to kill that much people. The Iraq war may have hinder AQ economically a bit, but in the other hand has giving them a bunch of nuts to inmolate themselves so terrorism is now alive and well, and IMO with more resources to keep killing people.
  8. Well, so maybe it encourages it a little bit, and maybe you daughter would end up getting laid 6 months or a year before than otherwise. However, i think it is an excellent trade off that she will be more protected at 13, 14 or 15 even if it means she will start sooner. I think parents are in denial of the sexuality of their off spring. Better to assume that your 12 years old girl (or boy) is sleeping around than hope that she/he will remain virgin until the wedding. (If not better, at least safer)
  9. I agree that the only thing royalty did to be royalty is being born among royalty. However, how is it diferent from being a Bush? You will agree that George Bush is not the brightest dude in the block, and he is president because his family had the money and the power. I prefer royalty, since they inbreed they have a shorter life span that your president.
  10. War is bad, Bush doesn´t know how to read, Clinton got a blowjob, JesusChrist doesn´t exist. (Just making sure this thread doesn´t get moved to bonfire)
  11. Getting rid of a despotic ruler who brutalized his own people and attacked two neighboring countries and threatened others and supported international terrorism is somehow "destablizing". Okay. mh . Considering that the US is killing thousands innocents in collateral damage, torturing hundreds on offshore prisons, its next target will likely be the neighbour Iran , sells weapons to dictators and fight proxy wars with WMD, I am confused who you are talking about...
  12. Shouldn´t be as long as he doesn´t distribute them... My parents once took a picture of me when i was 2 years old naked in the beach making a sand castle, is that child pornography? (many people have seen them) Laws need to take into consideration common sense.
  13. Actually yes, usually Europeans are better knowledgeable about forign matter than U.S people, so no offence taken. The first round of beers is on me if you find out where Spain is without using google.
  14. Actually not, i thought he meant Junior, my bad...
  15. Okay, you are scared, that is fine. You can crawl under the bed so the evil terrorist will not get you. If you justify the police overreaction, i think you would not be brave enough to live in the U.K or Spain where REAL terrorist attacks happens (or used to happen) every other month. Leaving aside Palestine and other 3 world countries. Nah, you wouldn´t make it in England, after all it is not the home of the brave or the land of the free.
  16. Yeah, good idea, lets nominate Bush the War-president for the peace nobel prize
  17. Maybe a definition of "victory" is in order here, don´t you think? As far as i am concerned the U.S is Victorious in that Irak doesn´t have WMD. So if it is only the ego what needs to be satisfied you con pack now and go home. You can wonder wether there was WMD in Irak to begin with if you feel like when you are on U.S soil. But my opinion is that the reps are torn beetwen the PNAC definition of Victory, whatever that is since it wasn´t shared with the people, and any definition that justifies all this big mess. It usually works the other way around, first you analize the problem and then decide a course of action, not take a course of action and then look for a problem that justifies that action.
  18. It is not at all far fetched. In Spain the intellectual propertry group not being able to stop piracy has convinced the government to tax any hardware susceptible to hold pirated content, like DVD blank discs, MP3 players, etc. Getting themselves the benefits. Now they are looking into taxing more hardware and internet conexions Check out this www. Sorry in spanish....
  19. It seems to me that there is a lot of people being kicked out of planes nowadays. Not saying that this family didn´t deserve it or that the guy with the bush shirt didn´t deserve it either, but i think that this zero tolerance-pass unnotice thing is going a bit over the top. In any case, airlines should give an adequate time for passengers to make themselves comfortable in the plane before taxi. If that means to let people board the plane 15 minutes before, so be it. but it is possible that the plane arrived at the gate a bit already late, anf the flight crew had to hurry up to keep the slot. Not fair for the other passangers to have to wait for a missed slot but not fair for the family that they had to pay for an airline delay or hurry. Possibly.
  20. No thanks, I don't agree with preemptive wars. So you are against the Irak war, aren´t you?
  21. As i said before there is not a good solution to this mess, only a lesser of two evils. But whoever doesn´t have to make the choice will bash the opponent under the pretence that they could have done better. Notice that i am only talking about the political aspect of this war, not the ethical one. If it was up to me i would pull the trops right now.
  22. That would be better than the opposite, however, there wouldn´t be any guarantee that troops would be completely out by 2008. If not they would still be in the same position. But even if they got the troops out they would be seen by many as anti-patriotic for giving up a possible victory in a war (Rep´s public relationship department would see too that). But the biggest threat would be if there is another terrorist attack on U.S soil. and there will be, the matter is when. The reps will blame the terrorist attack on those who didn´t support the war on terror (again the reps public relations department will see to that). So IMO the best is not move, it is like the chess term "zugzwang" when any move you make will favour the opponent.
  23. And of course, the Republicans will make sure that they don´t pull from Irak before the next elections because people tend not to change presidents during a war perpetuating that climate of fear. If the republicans win, they will not be any worse than now, and they will have more political capital to spend in their agenda and 4 more years to fix the mess in Irak. If the democrats win they will inherit a fucking huge mess that has no good fix. They will have to choose the better of two evils and republicans will take advantage politically of that. It is a win-win situation for the republicans and a loose-loose situation for the democrats if the stay as they are for now.. Too bad no one is thinking about the soldiers or our friends the irakis...
  24. nope, neither the former one... Aznar got us involved in an illegal war nor the present one, Zapatero is trying to appease everybody and is pissing evreyone off.
