  1. No kidding--I can't believe it took so many responses to point out that if someone is complaining of difficulty breathing, that it becomes less reasonable to put your knee on their neck for 8 minutes. Jesus. I'm glad at least someone got to it before I did.

Ironically, we may not have this new highly effective mRNA vaccine technology if it weren't for cancer research: https://www.nature.com/articles/nrd.2017.243

What makes you think we aren't? Imagine if all medical researchers were as smart as Westerly--I guess we'd have it all figured out!
  4. I've captured one opening so far at 240 fps on my GoPro 9. I hope to capture a few more on this rig with rubber band stows, and then I'll be switching to my new Vector3 with semi-stowless in April. Maybe I'll end up with some useful data.
  5. That's a personal question only you can answer. For me, it's an easy choice. It's unusual for a device to change your skydiving in such a fundamental way for only $100-$200 more.
  6. What fire/no-fire parameters? I feel like I've asked about them half a dozen times in this thread. Obviously those parameters are different now as compared to what they were when they had the issue. So what's the relevance? Did Cypres get it perfect the first time? Strong disagree. I don't know what industry you work in, but looking at a flaw and jumping immediately to technical incompetence seems really naive to me.
  7. Are any of these issues relevant to someone buying an AAD today? As an engineer I don't think this is a fair take. Smarter isn't always better, and simple is not always tantamount to corner cutting. And what do we really know about how simple or complex the algorithms are for any of these devices? If any of that sort of information is available I'd love to see it. You know who does know what type of battery is in these devices? The manufacturers. I would expect that the people and companies designing these lifesaving devices would be competent enough to spec a battery.
  8. And if there turns out to be no obvious spike, that doesn't imply that the activities were a good idea or that there was no risk of a spike. We already know that spikes can happen, so finding an event that might have caused one but didn't doesn't mean anything.
  9. Okay... The question was what do you like or not like about the fire/no fire parameters of any of the models. I would really like to know as I haven't heard any details on that, and if you do have any of this information, this would be the thread to share it in.
  10. It doesn't mean that. It doesn't mean anything.
  11. Clearly you think it means something, otherwise you wouldn't have posted it here, right? Or do you just babble for no reason? What do you think it means?
  12. I use the VOG audible as my primary. It's different from most audibles in that it speaks your altitude to you in increments. So you're always altitude aware without having to think about it, and if it quits working you'll notice. I recommend it highly.
  13. Whether that's true or not, no gathering is ever guaranteed to be a super spreader event so I'm not sure what you think this proves
  14. Yes, and I plan to compete in intermediate 4-way FS this year. And I'm well under 50.
  15. I think the Administrator is probably burned out on the project, which is something I can certainly relate to. I've sent him a DM offering help.

    Have a reference for that?
  20. Guys... All this talk of hybrids using both fossil fuels AND batteries is a weird, fantastical tangent that will never make sense. If someday it ever did sort of make sense, then fully electric would make much more sense. I struggle to see what problem you are trying to overcome with this train of thought, and how you're for some reason suddenly willing to ignore the problem of energy density. When people talk about hybrid aircraft, they're talking about using fossil fuels to generate electrical energy for propulsion. There are real advantages to this *today* for some niche applications like intracity VTOL.
  21. You said with two gas engines there would not be enough power for takeoff, but with a singe gas engine and single electric engine there would be. This is where you lost me. You have also not addressed my comments on the utility and danger of having only 5 minutes of power on the second engine. If the gas engine only has enough power that it cruises at WOT, having only 5 minutes of additional power is absurdly far outside any kind of acceptable realm. Are you a pilot?
  22. You should have been at USIS nationals last weekend--Bourbon County Stout was on draft and Sunpath was buying.
  23. Judging from her engagement on Facebook, I have to think she would be responsive to email or any other method of communication. She seems very accessible.
