  1. It's not the bag you gotta worry about, it's that long ass bridle that might create a problem... pull and flare, lisa
  2. Carlos Santana died?? Bummer... pull and flare, lisa
  3. You might also contact AR and get a copy of their Tri packing video - they show a bit different way of S folding that makes it much easier to keep control of the mess as you put it in the bag. pull and flare, lisa
  4. Most of the used and new gear I sell at work (Square One) goes out with the main unpacked 'cuz we figure the buyer will want to roll around on the floor with it... err I mean practice packing it prior to going out to the dz. Plus if it comes unpacked you can verify that the colors are what you wanted/expected before jumping it. But I'd certainly trust the pack job on what you're getting; only unpack it if you really want to practice packing. Wow, just back in the air and you already have gear on the way! Me thinks he's baaaaccckkkkk!!! pull and flare, lisa
  5. I still know where my dice are Any dungeon masters in the house? (I can see it now... the dz.com email d&d game...) pull and flare, lisa

    My New Toy

Plannin to double the RAM soon as my other tax money shows up! But compared to the old machine (480mhz, 64 meg o'ram) this one is a screamer so I'm a happy camper for now.

    My New Toy

933mhz Pentium III, 128 meg o'ram, 40 gig hd, CDRW and CDROM, kick ass sound and video cards, windows me, JBL speakers and subwoofer... Now I get to learn how to network them so me and the kid can be online at the same time. Hope I can tear myself away from it long enough to get some sleep tonight! pull and flare, lisa

    Guilt

I'm a single mom which seems to make whuffos really think I shouldn't be jumping. I've gotten the guilt trip from family, friends and coworkers - actually my son is the only one who has never said it! I try not to let it get to me because I know that without skydiving I would not be a happy person... therefore my kid wouldn't be happy either... and even though I'm a parent I'm still entitled to live my life. My son has told me repeatedly that he'd be really upset if I were to die in a skydiving accident but he knows how much jumping means to me - he says he'd be a lot more upset if I died in a car accident. I'm lucky though; my boyfriend has a couple of hundred jumps so he would never give me shit about it... don't know what I'd do if my significant other didn't "approve". (well yeah I think I do know what I'd do - look, grab, peel and pull that cutaway handle... - but that's just me
  10. I don't work in IT, but everyone at work calls me a geek... does that count? pull and flare, lisa
  11. Woooo Hooooo!!! Way to go Larry! Welcome back to the sky
  12. I think the instructions are on Boneheads website - http://www.boneheadcomposites.com If not just shoot them an email. Baking it can loosen the fit up a bit cuz the liner is actually molding to your head/ears shape... should be more comfortable after you cook it. pull and flare, lisa
  13. I've sold quite a few items through the auctions from work. Works great! Tips - include an email link and a pic if you can. For a canopy definitely list the number of jumps, date of manufacture (you can find that on the warning label, usually center cell tail), note any patches or relines and the color pattern. Check your email often while the auction is going; you want to be able to answer questions quickly. Set your reserve at the minimum you'll take for the item, then hope that a couple of people really want it. You might want to check experience level/exit weight before finalizing the sale if it is a smaller or high performance canopy. pull and flare, lisa

    finally

I was telling my parents how I plan to buy a new 'puter with some of my tax refund. Dad said something about saving some of it towards the repairs that will be needed on my car soon. I laughed and said "hey I'm not buying a new parachute with it, you should be happy!!" Anyway, glad you got registered Chris! Welcome to the madhouse! pull and flare, lisa

    tattoo

Well it's not on my bod yet (soon!) but mine is gonna be a variation of some artwork I found on a t-shirt. Front view (so no worries should I change what kind of rig I jump... matching is SO important) of someone diving down to a formation in an RW suit, full face helmet and tevas. It's goin on my right ankle
  16. for the excursions... assuming that I won't be drunk at the time we can pile into my station wagon (holds 5 regular people or 8 skydivers )... I'll hafta pass on the bungee thing though, don't think my doc will think much of that one only six months after surgery. But I hereby volunteer to take pictures from the ground!
  17. ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pull and flare, lisa
  18. Make that Thursday through Sunday and I'll be there for the duration... unfortunately taking a Monday and Tuesday off work are not an option for me and I ain't making that drive for just a weekend! Or maybe Friday - Tuesday so those of us who are just there for the weekend can come in early? Anyone else like craps? pull and flare, lisa
  19. :-( Not yet. But I am off pain pills now! This is progress!! I see the doc again in a couple of weeks; gonna ask him when I can jump then. pull and flare, lisa
  20. Southern California... see ya at Perris!
  21. Opinions?? Here??? rofl!! Go with what Tim at Wings is telling you. Even if your rigger could stuff the 181-M in there you would not like the pack job - it would be really hard and uncomfortable on your back and it would not look "right". Personally I think you are right; a 160 is too small for a novice jumper at 180lbs. body weight. I'd suggest getting a container sized for the canopies you'll be using. Any reputable gear dealer should be willing to take the container back as long as it has not been jumped, especially considering that you didn't order it custom; if not I'd be going somewhere else for my next purchase. pull and flare, lisa
  22. imho if you can't afford the ProTrack get the ProDytter. Larsen and Brusgaard knows how to take care of their customers. I've seen them replace broken old style (one beep) Dytters with brand new Pro Dytters - now that's service. I liked my Skytronic Pro but when it broke I got no customer service from the manufacturer... and I work for a major equipment dealer. I've talked to several customers who have had the same problem. If you can afford it get the ProTrack; what a fun little toy!
  23. ROFLMFAO!!!! Okay so I have a dirty mind On a related subject, ever notice whuffos looking at you funny when you're out with other jumpers? "So after the three way I did a four way with Bill and Steve and Jane, oh man it was so awesome!!" pull and flare, lisa
  24. wull... hang on, digging deep here.... the fall really is free, what you're paying for is the elevator ride up and the decelerator you use at the end! Yeah... that's it.... pull and flare, lisa
  25. I'm an "old school" belly flier and I'm not concerned about RW dying out, not considering the last US Nationals drew over 70 4 way teams (record attendance) and there are thriving RW competition circuits and large formation camps going on all over the country. Personally I can't freefly for shit yet so when I do it's a solo or two way and it's a total out of control kick in the ass. When I want to be more serious or jump with a bigger group I belly fly and it's equally as fun. imho the skydiver of the future will be striving to be able to fly their body in any position, which will open up whole new areas of freefall flight together and there will be no boundaries between belly fliers and freefliers... once again we will all just be skydivers.
