  1. I have an RSK1 and a sabre 120 it fits but in the desert it is VERY tight Chris
  2. Quade is very right about having a good camera flyer. Having one that shoots decent video but is reliable and easy to work with is a big help. Chris
  3. Not to sound sexist but you are a girl. You can usually get MUCH more instructor time than any guy. Just ask they usually will help jsut not when they are running to catch a plane. Chris
  4. Max has it right figure most of it out early and get commitments firmly. Not understanding how much it will cost or arguments about how to do things will cause more problems than 18s or 22s ever will. Chris
  5. They said it. Fallrates and skill at your level can be worked out. Form a team by commitment, goals and personality. You need people who all want similar things. You need people who are commited to those goals and have the resources to put in. And you MUST HAVE people you can work with for a significant period of time. Chris
  6. Having been to the Airspeed camps and worked with others I think that a good body flight coach will give you much better value. The Airspeed camps are complete but you never know which coach you will get and Airspeed really is not the biggest body flight proponants. You may end up with an Airspeed coach you have never heard of. That being said if you know a good coach and there are lots in Orlando and are willing to set it all up on your own (this means shared time, booking, times, and food) you will get moe out of it (I think). If you won't or can't take care of all the details then go with a camp. The NSL camps are cheaper. Personally I like the Magik faction and/or PD Blue Genesis But that is me Chris
  7. If you want the training I recomend Perris. They have the wind tunnel, coaches, and canopy classes and it is not a long trip. If you have the time and money (barring more hurricanes) I would recomend Deland and the Orlando tunnel. Chris
  8. I have TONS of time in the tunnel on my belly and I have done front flips on the net and back flips too. But if you think that it is good for a student to try it would be VERY painful. Moving 3 feet doing a flip is not much and the walls do hurt. Come and work on stability with a coach but not by doing flips. I LOVE the tunnel but "practicing" back flips would not be a good use of it. Chris
  9. If you just got a new jumpsuit get that tailored like the old one! Chris
  10. It is doubtful that you will get the $$ back but try calling the police or such as the transaction was probably across state lines and involved the mail so you might be able to nail them for that. But don't post the names that is a legal mess unless you have a conviction. Chris
  11. The 2002 Chicago STL was awsome. They were just so fast and good. That team was a great testamony to what you can do if you work at it. Chris
  12. There are few things that are in general agreement in skydiving. People like canopies for a variety of reasons. for Flare position and length and look. That said almost everyone I have ever spoken with says go PD reserve. They are tested, fly well and bombproof Chris
  13. No No sticker for me. But it seemed that everyone else did Chris
  14. Good Luck to all. Good luck SPANK Chris
  15. The cutaway slides are not sold by major company at the moment. You should talk to someone that you know who has one or contact the pro tour members for direction. I know that Ian Bobo helped design them for PD. Chris
  16. I deploy at about 3100 or adjust it so that I am trypically in the saddle by 2300 so that I ahve time to cutaway. I think that you BLEW it. You have a FLATLINE as the point that you should know that you ahve a good canopy. AT 35 jumps you need more experience to know that a snivle will be ok. I am glad that youa re good but I think that you should have cut and gone reserve as a general rule Chris
  17. I have a sabre 120 and it flys well and lands well. The opening on mine are fine. You can roll the nose and tail tightly, get a larger slider or get a pocket on the slider. All have worked for the sabre. As for the size, go see Bill Von's list of things that you should be able to do. I will tell you that I have 1100 jumps and am still just starting to really learn how to fly. That said I am sure that in another 1000 I will realize that I know very little still. Fly a canopy not that you can land, but one that you can land always and anywhere, one that won't get you hurt in traffic or in a tight place. Remeber it often the other guy who causes you to make a mistake and get hurt. Chris
  18. I love mine. The glide is great, it is fun to fly, and they swwop well BUt they do open funny sometimes Chris
  19. I agree with Bytch. Get some trainning. Any cost is not too much if it keeps you from braking yourself. Other than that Learn to fly your canopy. First. Are the breaklines set correctly?? You should see no distortion on the tail at full flight. The break lines shouls be bowed out from the trailing edge and you should have to pull down a few inches for the lines to pull on the tail. Second is the canopy in trim? Have it checked. It makes a world of difference. After that learn to fly Do you know what it feels like to Flare up high? How long it takes? What the feeling is? How far the toggles go down? Have you ever stalled the canopy up high? TRY IT Chris
  20. I jump at Perris and Elsinore regularly and whne i took the canopy course wouldn't jump in the afternoon due to winds. I think that it is fine but plan on doing it all before 12 for the real jumps. After that the wind kicks up. Chris
  21. Sorry Bytch I would if ya were closer. Chris
  22. It seems to me that this is a good reflection of our society in which often people take opinions and repeat them and never examine them. This is the "moron" attitude" they never critically examine what they think or do but jsut do it and move on if they survive. For canopies it is exactly this. They land the live they never think about the factors or examine what they did, experiment or rationalize. THey jsut blindly go on living till they hit the wall Chris
  23. The basics of flying are always having a good body position and having the basic movements down. Flying in the tunnel is great and 100 times more valuable for practicing this than jumping but you will also get 100 times mroe out if it with a good coach. There are tons in Orlando spend the $$ and get one Chris
  24. I found this one. Sorry Ladies. A Florida sex law: If you're a single, divorced, or widowed woman, you can't parachute on Sunday afternoons. Chris
