  10. Go to the UPT website and look up the recommended replacement interval for the listed components. Then look up the price for those components. Divide the recommended replacement jump numer on each component by the price. This gives you component replacement cost per jump. Factor in your periodic reserve repack cost (how is up to you), and you will have your rig rental price. Arrive Safely John
  11. I found out about 3 years ago that Joe was Pat Benatar's 2nd cousin. From that point on I would call him and ask for "Joe Benatar." It also made it easy picking a ring tone for him on my Blackberry. Arrive Safely John

  16. From the acknowledgements page of Clive Cussler's "Atlantis Found" (1999): Clive Cussler has long been my favorite author. I got this book for Christmas in 1999 and broke it open to enjoy during the long flight from NC to AZ back in January 2000. I opened the cover to find Joe's name. Joe was quite accomplished, but so unassuming that he didn't tout his accomplishments - rather he valued the contributions he made to the many groups and communities he was a part of. 17. I found this article that Joe wrote for the American Legion "Veteran's Corner" column in 2005. I added the bold emphasis, which means a great deal to me personally because of my connection with Joe. Joe's influence on me continues to reach others that I have the privilege of teaching, coaching, or mentoring in both the Military Free Fall and sport skydiving communities. Arrive Safely John
  18. Have a great one, mate. Arrive Safely John
  19. About an hour ago I found out that my good friend of 22 years Joe Andrzejewski passed away today from a medical condition. When I met Joe he was the Commander of the "HALO Committee," the old name for the MFF Schoolhouse then at Ft. Bragg. I made a lot of jumps with Joe, and we shared a lot of good laughs. I am very sad to see him go. In memory of MAJ (Ret.) "Jumpin Joe" Andrzejewski, D8826 Blue Skies, Black Death. Arrive Safely John
  20. Hooked, eh? Best news I've heard all day! Welcome to the fold . . . Arrive Safely John
  21. I deleted the original post because it spiraled into a pissing contest full of PAs. Personal attacks are prohibited by the Forum Rules. This reply should serve as a warning to the OP, NovaTTT, jumpwally, Flyfast, and michaelm21 that PAs are not allowed in the forums. To the OP: I have locked this thread - the second one on the subject I have dealt with. Don't post another. At this point in the soap opera I don't really give a shit whether you were scammed or not. Take some time to read the Forum Rules and learn to fit into our community. Arrive Safely John
  22. There is no "Other - please explain" in your poll. At my DZ AADs are only required for students (solo and tandem) and for Staff members in the air with students (AFF Instructors and Camera Flyers. Most people at my DZ jump an AAD but other than those mentioned above those without one are welcome. Arrive Safely John
