  1. Here's a couple more good examples... People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  2. How about giving several copies of an informational flyer on the subject to every jumper, then ask them to give a copy to every merchant they encounter. Instead of punishing the innocent business owners, with them not even knowing why they have less activity, they will be motivated to apply pressure from all directions on the corrupt politicians. I wonder what local newspapers done with this story? Even though it is not as juicy as a scandal in the big city, I would think a Phoenix of Tucson paper would love to sink their teeth into such an obvious case of wrongdoing. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  3. Sorry, I'm not into research tonight, just arguing! Seriously, I live in Ohio, so there was a lot of news coverage of the allegations and investigations. Ohio was also the stage for many allegations in 2000, expecially the claim that minorities were being stopped by police. It doesn't matter that bipartisan investigations showed them to be without merit, they will get repeated by activists. Politicians are les likely to repeat the old, unproven charges than the Jesse Jackson's of the world. Rolling Stone has done some great reporting, but not this time. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  4. What didn't Diddy do? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  5. Being well sourced (having authoritative, complicated, lengthy footnotes) is completely meaningless. You sure have a high standard for internet arguing. Maybe I'll bother to look up a couple links later. I didn't claim that "investigations were done and nothing was found of any significance", but when I already have knowledge that a couple big claims in the Rolling Stone article are obviously intentional misrepresentations, then I will not bother with examining the rest. I would not expect that all the allegations could be proven false. It is hard to prove the absence of voter fraud when the voting machine are, in fact, vulnerable. Too bad that so many thought the solution to punch card voting system problems was to spend a lot of money on a crap product. At least punch cards can't be hacked, and the possesion/transport of them can be monitored by all. The best way to stop voting fraud is to prevent it. Some proposals have been made in that regard. Why do you think the Dems resist them, while Repubs are advocates? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  6. A lot of money should be spent to research and understand this important issue. Especially if it might be possible to intentionally cause the condition. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  7. The type of jumping you do is not important to this issue. SAS is a speed that is normalized to a standard pressure/temp. TAS is not adjusted in this manner. The normalizing is useful so that a person that jumps at a high altitude DZ can make a valid comparison to someone that jumps at a sea level DZ. It would help a lot if we knew for sure whether the Neptune and others do an normalizing. You can change the TAS/SAS setting at any time, the data from previous jumps will then be displayed differently. 8. Good story, even if not true. I've had cashew butter, almond butter, and all sorts of other natural food products including meat substitutes, but vegemite is absolutely the worst stuff I've ever tried. Even wheatgrass juice tastes better than vegemite. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  9. Conservatives have proposed measures to make voting fraud much harder. I think liberals have opposed these efforts. Why? Some would tell you it is based on privacy/constitutional rights issues. I think not. The US Supreme Court has even allowed the ID requirments of Arizona to stand for this election, with a formal decision (it might still find the requirment unconstitutional) to come later. What proposals have liberals put forward to prevent fraud? Perhaps they have been active in this regard, but I don't think so. Why? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  10. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/10432334/was_the_2004_election_stolen Nothing? I took a quick look at the allegations within your link. Nothing new. For instance, the 98% turnout in some areas is easily assumed to be evidence of fraud because that kind of turnout never happens. However, the facts are a little different. As I remember it, there were many provisional ballots from people not realizing their precinct location changed, or there were overseas ballots (or something like that), that cannot be assigned to a particular area, but they need to be placed somewhere, so they did. The allegation was not that 98% of the people registered for a precinct voted, but simply that the number of votes cast was 98% of the number of registered voters. I'm basing this on my lousy memory, but each of the points I saw in your link fit a similar pattern - just stating the original allegation without any follow up info, which is really negligent journalism. The charge that so many were 'purged' from the voter rolls is an example of such bullshit, as the 'purging' was required by the state law. To say that the purging was done improperly is a different allegation, but not the allegation made in the Rolling Stone article. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  11. The latest news, however is that it isn't a point of no return. I heard a story about this on NPR just a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately for liberals, this doesn't help their agenda of attacking Bush. Federal funding of embryonic stem cell research is not banned. It is limited to the existing lines at the time. Is there evidence that the existing lines are not sufficient? If not, then there should be no issue. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  12. In the '70s, I saw in the World Book Encyclopedia (I still have it) how a frog (they don't regenerate normally) was made to grow back an amputated leg by using electrical stimulation. They had studied the electric field of salamanders for their experiments. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  13. Yes.... you got it.... let the people who stand to benefit from an education there and their families... and former alumni... raise the needed funding. Don't think that will happen. Liberal political leaders draw the line after high school education. Many liberal interests would oppose such an effort to apply the same principle to colleges. Don't forget that you can take theology/religious type classes even at a public university. One can advocate a greater separation of church and state than currently exists on its own merits. I just cannot agree that the separation doctrine means what liberals say it means, it does not support your cause. The state of the "separation" 200 years ago is evidence of that. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  14. Quite right! But why let all that bothersome truth get in the way of a good political smear campaign... So, I hear that Michael Fox has made other ads promoting research, but while he was on his medication. Of course that ad wasn't a political ad aimed at demonizing Republicans, so there was somehow no need to show the affects of the disease. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  15. Then you should be in favor of ending all federal college aid funding that may find its way into a private school, such as Notre Dame, for instance. 16. That is a really crappy analogy. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  17. I don't think you can ask us about the morality of it without bringing up the Michael Fox issue. You would think that the evil Repubs were not allowing any research at all. Michael Fox and others should be ashamed for intentionally misleading and manipulating public opinion, using sympathy for a celebrity, as he did with that political campaign ad. What I think is quite clear is that advocates of stem cell research should stop implying that if only the limited ban on federal funding were lifted, that Christopher Reeve would have walked, or Michael Fox would be cured. I heard on NPR that researchers are indicating that it may not be so important anymore to use embryonic stem cells, so the federal funding issue may be moot. If you don't believe in a soul, there is no moral issue, and anyone that disagrees is a religious nut with no compassion for those afflicted with diseases. If you do believe in a soul, the moral choice is not as easy. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  18. I think the Ohio Supreme Court did a similar thing when it declared that the state school funding mechanisms were unconstitutional, and demanded a change within a certain time. I think that is an accurate summary of their decision. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

  20. He also said: He also says that no country should have them, but the statement above says that every country is justified to have them if we do. So, when he says that their weapons should be taken away, it should also mean that it is only reasonable if everyone else has theirs taken away too. I probably could have worded that to be more simple. Team America, fuck yeah, coming again to save the mother f***ing day yeah! People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  21. No, not to defend Foley, just to show that dems don't really care about what Foley did, they only care about taking advantage of it. 24. I disagree. The TSA should be expected to remember their training. The USPA has told us to report such incidents so that they can work the issue for the future. Just because they are allowed to do something doesn't mean we are doing ourselves a disservice to complain through channels that were established specifically to provide reasonable assurances of safety for everyone and convenience and predictability to you. If the TSA said their policy had to change because of some actual threat or incident, or because you look suspicious, that would be different. But to put up with it just because they are not educated in their own procedures is not acceptable, I think. In my case, they falsely claimed that their policy had changed, that they always required both canopies to be opened. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
  25. The Sharks Circle Closer To Airbus http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?ContentBlockID=0ae8fa6b-d5b9-413b-8306-fe7136e0aa4e& Virgin Gives One-Week Ultimatum. Virgin Atlantic, one of Airbus's more vocally dissatisfied A380 customers, has presented the manufacturer with "new proposals" -- and given a week for a response. Virgin hasn't been coy with its displeasure over Airbus' tardiness, even saying cancelling its superjumbo aircraft order isn't out of the question. Virgin declined to provide details of the proposals, or what will happen should the week pass without a repsonse from Airbus, but industry experts believe there's little doubt Sir Richard's airline is asking for more in the way of concessions for A380 delivery delays. Airline spokesman Paul Charles told the Chicago Tribune, "We are talking with Airbus extensively. It is an important decision as to what we do." The past few months have been very bad for Airbus. The recent announcement of a third A380 program delay -- now two years behind schedule -- prompted then CEO Christian Streiff to offer parent EADS a restructuring plan. When EADS rejected the proposal, Streiff stepped down. EADS appointed its co-chairman Louis Gallois to Airbus' top spot, and he's begun a restructuring program of his own. EADS hopes Gallois' plan will be more palatable to all the political interests keenly worried over Airbus' fate -- and the fate of the jobs it provides on the continent. Meanwhile, in a bit of good news - bad news for the European planemaker, Emirates, by far its largest A380 customer with an order for 45 jets says it fully plans to take delivery of all of them. That's the good news... The bad news is Emirates, whose order is worth some $13 billion, is not really happy about it. Emirates president Tim Clark told Dow Jones Newswire "We have invested a lot in ground facilities, so we have to stick with the order for now." To fill the capacity gap resulting from A380 delivery delays, Emirates will purchase Boeing's 777-300s. As yet, the Dubai airline has not publicly announced any attempt to seek compensation from Airbus.
