Other than the forums I am always in the hunt for gear, new..used.. it doesn't matter. If I am in the thrill for the hunt, I'll go to Ebay, but when I need to actually buy something I come here to the classifieds. I see an increase in the classifieds that the description is not selling ANYTHING.. just directing you to Ebay and fight with thousands of others to raise the price or direct you to another Skydiving equipment site!!! My opion?? Classifieds are for posting items for sale OR items you're looking to buy, NOT to pimp an auction site or another website, that by the time you get there the item is gone, and you now have to shop through their site! I agree with the fact that stats MORE THAN DEFINATELY merit HOF recognition, and in the past no one cared about players that routinely got drunk or womanized etc, it was more accepted and in many crowds expected back in the days of the Babe and Mantle. Hell Ty Cobb was rumored to beat the shit out of a cripple in the stands because he booed him! Unfortunately for Pete, he's a victim of a politically sensitive time and his actions will not be tolorated. Hell the President's SOU address called upon atheletes to be more of a roll model. Pete, among other things, is a victim of bad timing (along with poor judgement) BUT.. (oh the BUTS...) in a sport where the players union (which is one, if not, the strongest union in the US) fought NOT to have players tested for drugs and until last year could not be busted for steriod use because steriods were not on the list of baseballs banned substances, EVEN THOUGH they are illegal in the US. With all these contridictions, why are they holding such a hard line against Rose??? Something to debate!!! My opinion, as unfounded as it might be, is Pete Broke the ONLY rule written in every locker room, GAMBLING ON BASEBALL. He could have commited murder (err.... OJ), could have done drugs... (take your pick), womanize.. (err.... maybe 95 percent of all pro atletes in the HOF now), were drunkards . etc... He could have still gotten in.. why??? Because none of those rules are posted in the locker room, and NO other pro atlete has ever been found guilty of betting on the sport in which he played. The ONLY exception is the Black Sox scandle, the only precedence and NONE of those involved are in the HOF and to this day are still band. Pete made bad decisions... plain and simple SMA#18
