  1. it's pretty interesting, i didn't think of my self as not being a "noob", or felt like i knew what i was doing, until i had 2000 jumps, and by that time i was already on the PST and had been competing for 2 years prior. i still think of my self as an intermediate compared to the others out there Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  2. they've been doing a lot of work, the took the other 2 showers out but they've put some stuff in to take it's place. looks pretty good up there. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  3. things have changed, there is only 1 shower stall now. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  4. if you can fly that buttplug you have i'll be very impressed. 240 out the door? i'm gonna start calling you marat! Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down

  7. uh, i think you took that whole "go big or go home" thing a little too serious. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  8. i know both Scott and Isaiah rarely post on here but they had a blast at Canadian Nationals, so much so that i think me and the rest of the team wouldn't mind showing up next year. thanks for posting that video too. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  9. Isaiah McCauliffe and Scott Roberts (PD reps and Fastrax swoop team members) were at the canadian nationals last week and originally were only going to do the swoop event, but they grabed some of the PD Optimum's (don't know the size) and did classic accuracy as well with them. from what i hear from others it was impressive. 10. correct, typically the more speed a pilot has the less input, if any, is needed to keep you level. however, as you slow down you are required to give more and more input to keep the same altitude. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  11. damn it man, come throw it down in chicago Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  12. Fastrax Swoop will be there and you can probably count on part if not all of PDFT, team x, and xaos, to show. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  13. Start Skydiving is fantastic. it's a brand new drop zone, great people, and great facilities. there are opportunities to do coaching with world class 4 way team Fastrax, and i'm not sure if any of the swoop team will be there then but we do coach there about once a month. definitely check it out Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  14. there is an option on the order form, but i'm pretty sure the default is the standard dive loop Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  15. VLC worked for me...thanks Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  16. have someone else jump it to see if they notice the same thing. like ian said i had the same experience last year, after talking to jyro he stated that left hand built in turns are the most common built in turn because of how the canopy is sewn together. in the end the built in left hand turn was the least of my problems. good luck... 17. so what are you noticing most? what's sticking out that's suprising you? what little tips and tricks are you picking up? there is definitely a lot of info to be gained by watching this video (even though i can't really watch it cause my computer is a piece of shit). 18. Tara...WTF? why'd you do that? was it tandems? swooping? falling down stairs? get better woman Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  19. yes, 2 people on my team wear extra padding under their swoop shorts to protect the tailbone and thighs, but only for competition or training not when we're doing demo's. also, the swoop shorts we have from Bev suits already come with added tailbone protection and padding in the knees. for those interested contact Bev and ask for the Team Fastrax Swoop shorts, if i remember correctly they're between $100-$200 Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down

  21. Start Skydiving located in Lebanon, OH will be hosting a canopy skills camp and mini-swoop competition this July 28/29th weekend. On Saturday July 28th Stuart Schoenfeld of Team Fastrax Swoop will be providing coaching for anyone interested in learning more about canopy flight. This day will be complete with video debriefs and one-on-one discussions focusing on the individuals performance and goals. On Sunday July 29th we will host a mini-swoop competition consisting of 3 rounds of distance and 3 rounds of zone accuracy. This is geared towards pilots and jumpers interested in learning more about the competition side of swooping, but is also a great training opportunity for advanced and pro level canopy pilots that would like to get free coaching. Both days we will be videoing all landings and debriefing after each jump. The Cost: this event is FREE, the only cost is your jump tickets (see www.startskydiving.com for details). We will begin each day at 8:30am with morning stretching and hopefully wheels up at 9am. For questions please contact Start Skydiving or [email protected] Blue skies... 22. so release the brake that is still stowed or stop pulling it down. do NOT try to land with one rear riser and one toggle. it can be done but will most likely put you into a low turn situation and you will hit the ground hard. Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
  23. the short version: land on rears, if you don't know how, ask the most knowledgable and/ or best canopy pilot on the DZ what goes into it. i think all the responses that state "with your experience you should cut away..." really shows how outdated the training for novice jumpers is when it comes to canopy flight. when you cut away you only have one shot at living left and that's your reserve and you're putting a lot of faith into that, especially if you have a working parachute over your head before hand. it would kind of suck to cut a good one away then have to deal with a bad one that is your last chance of survival. edited to add: i've landed an 83sqft canopy straight in on rears and i've seen others land sub 90sqft canopies straight in on rears. it wasn't soft by any means but no one got hurt.
