  4. I use the Suunto X6 hrm. As far as I know, this is the only model from Suunto, having a button lock. So it can't accidently switch back to the time or any other display. It is quite accurate - I set it to zero in the morning and during the day I stay +- 50 feet around 0. Some friends use the Vector and they like it. So I think it's just about your personal design preference or if you want to see your heartrate in freefall - which you can do with the X6hrm. Just keep in mind that Suunto says in all of their manuals, that they do not reccomend their watches for skydiving!!! M vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!
  5. What are you thinking about??? There is no problem with buying stuff and bringing it back to Europe. The only thing I can think about is, that you should check if it is legal to use that particular gear in your country. For example, a while ago, the Vigil wasn't approved to be used in Germany - but this is the only equipment I can think about right now. You can always check this by asking your countrys governing body. M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!
  6. Hi, I just came back from Houston. Went there 6 months ago from Frankfurt. I had my rig as a carry on with a printout of the FAA information on travelling with a rig. You can find that on the USPA website. Be sure to have everything that looks like a knife in your suitcase and not in the carry on. I did not have any problems with the cypress, although I experienced different treatments from no additional checks of my equipment to a very detailed inspections of all of my stuff. Really depends on the knowledge of the inspection team. So be at the airport really early. At your first airport in the U.S. you will have to go through customs with all of your stuff - this will take again some time. At Houston check out Skydive Houston - nice place to be

  22. I did my first tunnel camp after about 50 jumps and I don't want to miss it. It was a 90 min 3 day camp and a couple of the participants where really tired at the last day - so it depends a little bit on your personal fitness how many time you want to go for. The good thing about a camp compared to coached tunnel time once in a while is, that it is easier to train muscle memory because of the more repetition you have in a short time. The later you start getting coached - whether in tunnel or in actual jumps - the more time you will probably need to get rid of bad or not effective body positions. I also agree on getting a good knowledge about canopy piloting but from my experience this is easier to train on your own - I am not talkin about swooping - "just" about the basic skill set to handle your canopy properly to do safe landings. Have fun M. vSCR No.94 Don't dream your life - live your dream!
