Jump #'s VS. Post #'s

I can appreciate DZ.com, but please get out and jump, so your jump # is higher than your post #.

If your post # is higher than your jump # please go to nearest dropzone, buy lift tickets, get on plane, jump then repeat.

Also refrain from further posts until jump # is higher than post #.

First let me agree with you.

People with 100 jumps and 3000 posts in one year who know it all have no credibility in skydiving related subjects. At all. That's why i dont read crap forums like Bonfire and all the rest of their nonsense.

Now allow me to disagree with you on a few things.

1. there are also people here on dz.com with 8K skydives and 30K posts :) They just like to talk :)

2. As someone whose posts have been cut before, i can still appreciate what the mods have to go through. Their work is not easy - they have to follow the rules. They DONT get paid to do this, and if they do the right thing by the rules, suddenly they are the asshole. You want their job? Trust me - you dont. (i am a little biased though since i moderate on other forums ;).

3. Cross posting is bad inet forum manners. Period. While the original post does belong here, there was an earlier identical one elsewhere, so this one was locked. But not deleted. Not to mention that the OP posted it in 9 (nine!) other forums.

4. This particular topic doesnt belong in the wingsuit forum. Watch it get moved to Bonfire. :)

and finally 5. instead of getting mad - follow your own advice and go make some skydives :)

Oh and to stir things up... i thought that from a photography technical point of view that photo was average at best. There are at least two other shots that would get my vote first, thats why i wouldnt vote for the wingsuit photo. It IS afterall a PHOTO contest, right?

No. When a thread is moved, a pointer is left, for everyone to see and follow. That pointer is now sitting at the top of page 2. i.e that pointer was on page 1 of this forum until unnecessary threads pushed it over on to page 2 today.

It was just moved. But the pointer was left. If people only read this one forum but can't be bothered to scan all of the subjects on one page, the solution is not to put multiple posts about it.

Coupla comments:
A-Crossposting is against the TOS.
B-The moderators have already been very lenient in allowing the topic and related links in multiple forums, demonstrating that the mods too, want to see Scotty and Skydiving succeed in this contest.
C-Tweaking the mods with this sort of thread doesn't bode well for anyone, and casts a bad light overall.
D-I have far more posts than I have jumps...does that make me a dick? Or...does it mean that I answer a lot of posts (most of mine are in the Photo forum, but if you only look at #'s, you won't see that).

Mods don't have it easy. We have to monitor a lot of situations, herd cats, kill fake usernames that attack or applaud others (often when it's not warranted, hence the fake username). We get paid exactly the same amount as you're paid to post...and get a lot more aggravation out of it (but we do get our names in green, so take that, SUCKA!) We also get to read all your spicy PM's, can see inside your computer and browse your porn collection, and know the combination to your DZ locker).

Seriously, the spammed posts broke the rules...let it go.

I'm not Skymama...but you made me choke on my gum too. I'm gonna grow my numbers to match.
Effective immediately;
DSE has 4441 jumps. I fly like sh^^ for those numbers, but heck, I know one guy that went from 1300 to 3K overnight.

When you (jeff) made the post on the USA today photo comp, there was already a 100% identical thread on this very forum.

All the frustration, and 10 duplicate threads, trying to outsmart and annoy a forum admin who is only trying to do his non-payed job makes no sense to me..

Next to the fact that the +- 50 to 100 wingsuit forum regulars have all seen the pic/post and the ones willing to vote, have voted..trusts me,...we're all whores for every pixel, moving frame and thing in the media regarding wingsuits.

These double/triple/quadruple plugs are not needed..and had you just stuck to the orignal thread on the subject, and bumped that one..we'd all be holding hands, laughing at people like me who have no credibilty due to too low jump vs post numbers, and listening to the 100% accurate 27 mph sustained fallrate people who do have more jumps than posts..

take this with a wink and smile...ITS NOT A WAR....its a forum where people talk about what they love...if you dont agree with rules or moderation..solve it via PM, but dont make a fool out of the admins who are just trying to do their job by doing a mass spam operation...givng the poor man (also a wingsuit pilot!) dozens of reasons to remove and lock threads...

You won't enjoy it when you stumble across a picture of him wearing a wig while dressed in an unzipped wingsuit exposing things that only a no pull will erase from your mind ...
