Matter wing suit

Recommended Posts

Matter's MTR-1 sells for about $876. It is available in one color and twelve sizes (four sizes of three areas of the suit). Their delivery is usually within a few days. Matter Clothing is found at http://www.matterclothing.com.

Edited to add:

If you're looking into the one-wing design, Fly Your Body's S-Fly is approximately $740. The S-Fly comes in four stock or custom colors. All sizes are custom. The delivery time is six weeks for stock colors and nine weeks for custom colors. Fly Your Body is on the web at http://www.flyyourbody.com.

Personally, I say spend the extra $50 and buy a GTi, or try to find a used one for cheap. The least expensive NEW suit on the market is BirdMan's Classic II at $699. So if you're looking for the "suit for the common man", the Classic II is it.

The price list on the site says 750.00 Euros (750.00 Euro = 876.449 USD) but I have it from the manufacturer that they are selling them for $600 (sale maybe?)

'depends where you are: the S-Fly comes at least 200 euro cheaper than the GTi on this side of the pound, 'coz of overseas shipping cost, dealer margin, VAT, and small import tax on stuff made outside of europe. It seems tricky to get birdman products directly from the States and not throug the official dealers network.

the S-fly is said (search this forum) to fly at least as good as the GTi, if not better: I'll tell you when I'll get mine in 6 weeks and when I have enough jumps on it to kick ass of GTi flyers :P
...errr that's probabely gona take more time than 6 weeks for me, humble newbie in the flock... let's be realistic :S

Where are Birdman suits made?

Either my understanding is wrong, or there is some seriously weird transhipping going on here.

Not sure. Possibly. Thought maybe they'd make some sort of exception.

I just got the WORST news. I'd wired money to Fly Your Body for my S-Fly. My bank just called and said that their bank doesn't accept wires from the United States! WTF?!?!! They returned the money and charged me wire fee! I don't use credit cards. I'm SOL now. Maybe they'll take a check. Sigh...

LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE! Like this one time... er...

No, I'd probably spend all my money on getting subscriptions to porn mags for my friends and sending them to their workplaces.

You can buy rechargeable credit cards (with a check) at a lot of places (check cashing places, western union, I've even seen tham at Walgreens). That way, you could write a check for just the amount you knew you wanted to spend (plus the fee, there's a fee for everything, it seems like) and get a credit card that you could use to buy the wingsuit.

Yeah I remember when I was in the witness relocation program way back when.

I have a confession. ManBird isn't my real name.

Tom, that's a good idea. I didn't even know that existed. Though, now that this has happened, I'm starting to sell myself on the idea of holding off. I've already got a $70 (both wire fees) slap in the face. God wants me under a Crossfire 2. I'm convinced.

Just out of curiousity did you do your research before you sent $$ over the wire? I.e. ask them if they could take a wire payment from the US? If so, and the answer was yes then have them deduct it from the price of the suit.. hell they may do it anyway just to "get you as a customer"
