I remember when I was doing AFF and full face was strongly discouraged until X number of jumps at my home dz...then, I was under the impression that it was an RW thing. I just got a Z1 and love it! hot as hell in the summer but it's so nice and quiet and IMO great for freeflying. AggieDave 6 #2 June 26, 2004 I've seen some folks jump with fullfaces like Z1s, but they've all had problems with the lens flipping up/breaking. Take a look at the Bonehead Boomerang. skipro101 0 #5 June 26, 2004 I had a boomerang for my last 50 or so sitfly jumps. I sold it and now have an open face. with the fullface I didnt like: 1- the relative wind trying to tear it off my face when in sitfly 2- restricted vision 3-hott in the plane 4-it didnt have two audible pockets. I wear it because I have glasses I wear for near-sightedness. No helmet should ever do that in the air. I have seen freeflyers with full face helmets, and i've seen them with the visor removed and goggles. It's all about personal preference. I am not sure if he is still making a full face other than cam helmets or not. He is a hell of a craftsman though. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. I've never had it open up before but I have been warned from others about this happening .I sanded down the visor a little so the air flows over it better when I'm in a sit . I've never had it open up before . I just make sure that I feel it click before I head out the door . In the winter , I use some rainex defog on the inner lense . The stuff is great ! I use a bonehead in the summer . You can bake it to get a great fit on your head . I almost lost it on a jump .It fits so tight that I didn't know that I it wasn't buckled .
