Caribou/Zhills

Recommended Posts

Labor day weekend,Friday/Sat/Sun and Monday we will have a TURBINE CARIBOU (-67s) at Zhills, this baby will take 32 jumpers in comfort ,big tailgate, lots of load organizers for all from belly to wing suits.
To see the actual plane (n600nc) go to pen turbo aviation and you will see it on there web site.
This is a one off chance to jump the boo,and we hope to have lots of fun with this bird.
More info and prices shortly.
As always at Zhills, there will be the usual active social scene after jumping and plenty of food and beer to end the long jumping days.
Hope to see you all there.
Paul.

Not that relevant to the boogie, but whatever.

(It's the video of the fatal crash where the pilot presumably left the gust locks in place before takeoff. That's a classic way for pilots to kill themselves. It was a test flight so no skydivers were involved.)

The son was the pilot and the father was filming.

The cameraman sounded way too in control for someone who just saw their son crash and die. :S

Anyone who's worried can just manifest for load 2. :P

Yes, I know it is not relevant to the boogie. I just happened to run across it a few days ago and thought what the heck.
At least they know about leaving the gust locks in now....:(

That's a sweet artist's rendition! Did everyone jump out the window?

Wow, aren't we in a "jagermeister dispenser half empty" mood?

Here's a new artist's rendition.

Note there appears to be someone dressed in orange standing on the tailgate. Must be either a Tennessee fan or an inmate at the county jail out to pick up trash along the road. Either way, he would probably say inmate just for the added status.
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

How does one of these compare to a Casa in climb time and fuel burn?

from this page they quote an average of 910 pounds per hour. using a density of 0.8075 kg per liter this translates to 135 US gal per hour. Would it be about 45 US gal per load (assuming 3 per hour)???

with a useful load of 10000 pounds I suppose you can have as many jumps as can fit...
