I keep forgetting you're deaf because you have an amazing grasp of written English. It's much better than mine, that's for sure. My younger brother, who was also born deaf, has terrible written English. :P

It all depends on how we were educated. Mark is incredibly spot on with his English, as well as I. I don't know what kind of school he went to
I think my English slacks off slightly when I write online, as I do write run-on sentences. However, I'm probably in the 95th percentile when it comes to English writing skills.

I was mainstreamed beginning in Grade 3. I had a speech tutor, who assisted in my English writing skills.

I don't know, you're posts have gotten much shorter in the last couple years.:P Regardless, us hetero skydivers have our own flags, most are posters or pages from a porn mag posted at the dz of boobies.:D:D

Yeah, I had a speech tutor as well. When I was in the 7th grade, I went through some kind of aptitude test or something, can't remember what it was called, but the results was I had 12th grade reading proficiency.

I think its pretty messed up that one group could claim refracted light.

I like rainbows.
one of my favorite shirts had a rainbow on it but I'm straight So I had to add the words "not gay" to it. but people got all upset because they thought I was being insensitive to the plight of gay people so I had to add "but supportive" to the same shirt.

(stolen from dimetri martin's comedy central show)

I say, the more gay guys at the boogie the better my odds that hot skydive chick will find my worth wild.
If I could eliminate all straight guys but me at the boogie it would be great. but then I wouldn't need the gay guys there either. So, I'm starting a club, too.
Its called "porno-dick skydiving club.(TM)"
It will have one male memeber;ME. and any women who wants to join.

Rules for joining to be discussed at try-outs. :D

well Joseph jumps at skydive Alabama and I jump at The Farm. But they are both worth visiting. Just remember that nothing ever happens at the farm ;)

Well... Are you SUUUUURE? ;)

Though, I introduced two NY state Rainbow Skydivers to each other and they went out on a date in Manhattan. One that's actually your good wholesome 'ol coffee/dinner thing, not the bedroom-on-first-date thing.

Ya, you know men and thinking with the wrong head, especially if you've seen Queer as Folk back in its day. However, believe it or not, there's also the old-fashioned types too.

The Rainbow Skydivers actually brings out all kinds of people, including those who you least expect to be gay. There's even a Bible Belt population. Sometimes my gaydar don't even go *beep* at all. :o Time to send back my gaydar model 100 for repair. I hope I still have extended warranty coverage left, it's on its last year.

I hope you know my comment was not by any means directed at only gay dates! It just seems rare to hear of dinner/coffee dates versus hooking up "dates" these days, regardless of sexuality.

PS- my uncle is an old fashioned type of gay man :)

Actually, for that reason, some are coming just for the weekend, flight Friday night to Sunday night. This eliminates the need to take days off if you've got Monday-to-Friday work or school. There's an airfare sale going on right now, some texans found $250 roundtrip including taxes...

Saturday has historically been our peak day for the boogie, with most of the festivities too.

Keep an eye on that boogie-specific thread in Events forum...

And, we're harmless to the straight jumpers too.

Harmless? It's even better than that, you are no competition for the limited amount of women in the sport.

Yeah, I was thinking harmless? Have you drank some of the drinks they have made? You'll wake up with your hair purple. :D:D:D

POPS? Couch Freaks? Toad Suckers? Muff Brothers? NOPE! It's the RAINBOW SKYDIVERS!

How come you don't just call yourselves outright what you actually are: "HOMOSEXUAL SKYDIVERS"?
Why come up with the whole "Rainbow" thing to fool people about what kind of group you really are?
Obviously you're not afraid to be known for what you are, nor should you be, so why disguise it?

So organize a Monochrome Boogie, John.

Meanwhile, the circle logo stickers finally arrived Wednesday (We ordered 500 stickers).

Slapped one among the hundreds of stickers covering the famous perris mockup. It was hard to find an empty space.

Hey, I know! Post them all over Nashville!

Answer me this: Why do gays feel the need to advertise or be considered a different group? You don't see straight people asking for "straight rights" or straight marches, or having their own special places or events.

It's like blacks still claiming they are different, yet wanting to be treated the same as whites. You can't have it all and go one way or the other depending on your mood or situation.

We are all the same as humans. Subdivide and you can expect to be treated different. Consider yourself the same and you might be treated that way. Make sense?

We don't need black history month or gay pride or "straight guys that love pussy" marches do we?

:S

To remind the many people who use "gay" or "homo" or "spic" or "girly" as a perjorative that there are real people to whom those descriptions apply all of the time.

Personally, I don't really like being used as an insult.

>Why do gays feel the need to advertise or be considered a different group?

Same reason there's a "dudeist skydivers association." Same reason there's a Camp Canada at Lost Prairie. Same reason there are women's teams and a Christian Skydivers Association.

>marches, or having their own special places or events.

Ever heard of the Women's World Record or POPS records?
