That is the only reason I can imagine him not looking around more for other people in the air under canopy. The last 2 or 3 minutes I was wondering where the orange canopy was in relation to him. I know that perspective is distorted on a camera but it creeped me out once he started spiraling down towards that airspace...Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. It was just a byproduct of him not giving the tandem enough time after exit.

A solo jumper leaving after a tandem, while wearing a camera, and he puts his hand on the tandem rig as the instructor rocks for the 'ready set go'? That's lurking behavior if I've ever seen it. All that stuff and yeah, the TI shouldn't have let this person anywhere near a tandem. This guy shouldn't even be wearing a camera. Not to mention whoever was flying the other greenish / yellow canopy clearly landing perpendicular to the indicated landing direction. So many things wrong all in one video. Whoever these people are clearly are not making good decisions.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. jimmytavino 16 #18 April 18, 2011 more like How to NOT DO a LOT of things... the number one job of any tandem lurker,, ( imho ) is to be visually PRESENT in the eyes of the TM AND the cameraperson....for a substantial part of the skydive... Nothing worse than being a TM or vid. guy and NEVER seeing the lurker that you KNOW exited after you... To lurk.. one should at LEAST,,, "be in close proximity", at SOME point... anything else poses a hazard to ALL... including the lurker... this persons' uncertainty about whether to dive.. or sitfly to GET there....is troubling... especially since neither idea seemed to work... so -so video.. not sure why the clip needed to include allllll the canopy ride..... was the "plan" for this lurker to open ABOVE everyone?? do we know if the dive was "dirt-dived" in the 1st place??? i.e. WAS there a plan??? why would anyone post that sorta video?? except to attract critiques like a paperclip to a magnet... Now just what was the OTHER person who was with the group doing???? I thought i saw the tandem pair, a camera person in front of them AND a lurker who WAS in a sensible place,,,, as well as the subject lurker... who really wasn't...... let's be careful out there... jmy

skinnay 0 #21 April 18, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpzus2DwrFU lol! from the dude's videos... at 2:10 looks like one of his student jumps and he's either struggling to dock or stay on heading, but he's got a sidemount on! Gotta also love the way he does nothing but geeking the camera even when he's flailing and spinning on his back.

michalm21 0 #23 April 18, 2011 yeah.. so to keep it short, this guy is jumping at a dz in poland. we wrote in response to my post, that he has 38 (thirty eight!) jumps, including aff course he says... He also said that without tandem as reference, it's hard to learn the level and proximity, so he will try some more (i'm not shitting you) He also said he doesn't want to hold himself back because solo jumps do not help him at all. The last jump was just a mess, but he says he can fall flat. I have no words ps on that very same tandem jump, the video guy filming off the step also does a shitty job filming the exit - i'm guessing a newbie as well
