BillyVance 34 #2 October 22, 2005 I have an old Factory Diver helmet sans the face shield. I stopped using the shield when I quit wearing contact lenses. I use either SportRX goggles or an old pair of glasses (usually for CRW where peripheral vision is a must). I also have an open face Bonehead with side-mounted Dbox for a PC101..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
vt1977 0 #3 October 22, 2005 I have a Z1 and I mainly do FS. The reason I chose the Z1 is that they seem to mist/ice up a lot less than other helmets in very cold weather - a real factor if you are jumping in the UK. FYI - in the UK you need a B licence and 50 jumps before you can jump in a full face helmet. Vicki

Tink1717 2 #5 October 22, 2005 You should have added a seasonal option. I only wear a full face in the winter.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... Dumpster 0 #8 October 23, 2005 Full faceZ-1 for bellyflying - which I do alot of. Open face Bone Head for coaching and hop-n-pops. Also getting into camera work - Currently using an FF2 for that. The Z-1 opens very nicely with one hand. Easy Does It
vt1977 0 #9 October 23, 2005 Quotehow easy is it to open the visor? can it be done with one hand? I find it very, very easy to open the visor on my Z1 with one hand - even with thick gloves on. I have heard of others not finding it so easy though! Vicki
Travman 6 #10 October 23, 2005 I have a Z1 which I use for both rel and freefly. Visor locks firmly and opens easily. Check with your DSZO though, I know my DZ doesn let people with less than 100 jumps wear a full face.
Scoop 0 #11 October 23, 2005 Ive got a Z1 open face which im very happy with at the moment. I dont mind being exposed and at the moment Im not worried about getting bashed in the face. I have no intention of getting a full face yet. Unnecesary expense!
nael 0 #12 October 24, 2005 I used to do rel work with an open face, but after being kicked in the face a few times on exit (I'm rear float) I decided it was time to get a full face. I also got a Z1. Very comfortable, easy to open and if you forget to close it before exiting it (supposedly) doesnt snap the lens off cause the lens can flip all the way back, which is also great under canopy.www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

vt1977 0 #14 October 24, 2005 QuoteAFAK Z1 is fullface. Z1 do also produce an open face helmet. Vicki
phoenixlpr 0 #15 October 24, 2005 Z1 does not produce anything, because Z1 is a product and Parasport Italia is the manufacturer. Check Helmets, Head Gear and Goggles: Parasport Italia. Z1 is a fullface.

phoenixlpr 0 #17 October 24, 2005 So? What is the difference between the product named "Z1" , "Z1 Apha" and "Z1 evo"?
vt1977 0 #18 October 24, 2005 QuoteSo? What is the difference between the product named "Z1" , "Z1 Apha" and "Z1 evo"? The point is that if someone describes their Z1 helmet that does not necessarily mean that it is a full face helmet. The original Z1 and Z1 STI are full face helmets. The Z1 Alpha, Z1 Alpha STI and Z1 Evo are open face helmets. As for differences - the STI has the external audible port. As for the open face helmets, I'm not 100% sure, But I believe the Evo is a newer model than the Alpha. Vicki
phoenixlpr 0 #19 October 24, 2005 Do they have a different name accidentally?
vt1977 0 #20 October 24, 2005 QuoteDo they have a different name accidentally? Probably not on the grounds that they are different products. There are 5 products with "Z1" in the name. 2 are fullface helmets, 3 are open face helmets. Ergo, a Z1 helmet is not necessarily a fullface helmet! Perhaps we could get this thread back on topic? phoenixlpr 0 #21 October 24, 2005 Do you have a middle name ? For what reason? Only on product is named "Z1". Ergo its a fullface.
bob.dino 0 #22 October 25, 2005 For completeness, I'm aware of three versions of the Z1 full-face helmet: Z1: internal audible pocket (in the liner) Z1 IAS: externally-accessible audible pocket for a Pro-Track/Dytter/etc. Z1 STI: externally-accessible audible pocket for a Skytronic FX More from the US distributor. It's very simple really, you just need to think a little bit in SAT mode: Ford is to Parasport Italia as Mustang is to _______?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
