BillyVance 34 #2 October 22, 2005 I have an old Factory Diver helmet sans the face shield. I stopped using the shield when I quit wearing contact lenses. I use either SportRX goggles or an old pair of glasses (usually for CRW where peripheral vision is a must). The reason I chose the Z1 is that they seem to mist/ice up a lot less than other helmets in very cold weather - a real factor if you are jumping in the UK. Dumpster 0 #8 October 23, 2005 Full faceZ-1 for bellyflying - which I do alot of. Open face Bone Head for coaching and hop-n-pops. Also getting into camera work - Currently using an FF2 for that. nael 0 #12 October 24, 2005 I used to do rel work with an open face, but after being kicked in the face a few times on exit (I'm rear float) I decided it was time to get a full face. I also got a Z1. The point is that if someone describes their Z1 helmet that does not necessarily mean that it is a full face helmet. The original Z1 and Z1 STI are full face helmets. The Z1 Alpha, Z1 Alpha STI and Z1 Evo are open face helmets. As for differences - the STI has the external audible port.
