Yep.  The change to NEM 3.0 effectively requires batteries to be cost effective, and that means a higher initial outlay.  Of course that means a lower uptake rate, since fewer people will be able to afford it.  Everyone except the utilities opposed it.

But that's a bit too nuanced for some posters here.  For them it's simply a way to get a slam in and 'own the libs.'

You've posted here that you cook to meet your kid's pancake needs and your wife's coffee needs. Laudable, sure, just add a little water to the bisquick and before it's fully stirred the pan is hot and the coffee is dripped. No muss, fuss, or waiting. Not like spaghetti sauce where you need to wait at least an hour before the bay leaf fully spreads it's magic and then more time while the simmering does its work transforming a very crude and bland assemblage into something absolutely delightful. But, of course, that takes patience and a strong faith in the future.

Water in Bisquick? No, whole milk, (with some added vanilla) Coffee is a locally roasted blend of Estate and Ethiopian long berry, ground right before brewing. Bolognese is either an eight hour Sunday sauce or a one hour cheat in my instant pot during the week.

I get it Brent, y’all pissed off because your world view is falling down like so many dominoes.  The rate of growth in EVs is continuing, wind projects are growing across the country, solar surging in Florida and other southern states (I live in Florida), you only have a tidbit of data from a single thing in CA to rely on, coal usage is barely at record levels, (but so is the world population), domestic oil production soaring and renewable energy still building steadily every.... single.... day...., and all you have is rhetorical comments like 'it was supposed to replace fossil fuels by now". CO2 rates continue to rise and the globe sees record climate and weather catastrophes almost daily and most certainly more regularly with annual records for weather events being broken continuously. Your ignorance is understandable (yet humorous)

EV sales are rising 50% a year.  It might ONLY grow 40% this year.  Solar is, again, the #1 new energy source added to the grid.  Kentucky of all places is now going solar in a big way.  Coal use in the US is declining 25% a year.  

Meanwhile, Trump just got booted off the ballot in Colorado.  His cronies are getting jailed and sued into bankruptcy.  Voters are rejecting misogynist abortion laws everywhere they are voted on.  It's gotten so bad that republicans have abandoned the push to convince voters, and are now trying to cancel elections on the issue.  Republican candidates are trying to avoid talking about Trump at all costs.

I can see why you're lashing out.  Thoughts and prayers.

Nothing you have said refutes anything I have said. Growth of EV demand is dropping, growth in wind generation is collapsing, and global coal use and domestic oil and gas production is increasing and renewables can’t keep pace with demand.
