Saying Goodbye To A Brother

Recommended Posts

For those of you that were lucky enough to know Chris Salin one thing is for sure you will never forget him. Due to complications with his injuries Chris passed away on Monday afternoon. Chris was a free spirit that lived life on his terms. Life was his candy store and he was a kid running free.
Funeral Service is set for Saturday May 4th in New Braunfels, TX. @ 2pm.
A gathering of friends will be at Skydive San Marcos Friday for a day of jumping and remembering our friend Chris.
Blue Skies,
Paul

This guy was a true winner. A fine gentleman and a great skydiver.
Besides that a sly sense of humor- Disco Helmet...... believe it or not -it took him the better part of 45 minutes to explain how he did that....
On my 100th jump a 13 way campfire - He is right there with me in the door blocking the wind for me.
I will miss him so much.

Although I've been away from the SSMI crowd and the sport in general since my marriage, I still kept in touch with at least Allen and the D&B Gang... Chris was such a pleasant presence that he'll be sorely missed. I'll see you guys at the memorial jump....
Chris... may you forever enjoy blue skies and soft landings... go in peace.

Thanks everyone for their response. I wish I'd heard about this earlier.
This is tragic. My condolences to him and his family, friends, and loved ones. It's clear he had many people who cared about him.

Chris was a beautiful person with a spirit that was incredibly free. He always had a warm smile and a hug waiting for me whenever I saw him. He will be deeply missed.
Here is a poem that I would like to share that was given to me when my someone close to me passed away a few years ago.
Lift Up Your Heart
Don't grieve for me,
for now I am free.
I could not stay another day
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
all these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I have savored much,
good friends, good times, a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
for now, my friends, I am truly free.
