wan2doit 6 #124 May 2, 2016 rehmwa***Good editorial overall. I disagree with some of the details, but agree on the overall message - that we are creating a downright toxic environment, and that Trump's condoning and encouraging of violence is just the most visible part of the iceberg. He provided a very generalized set of comments and observations - Not a lot of details to disagree with other than the overall message. ("I don't agree with some of it" usually comes across to me as - "I'm not sure how I want to spin it". Or in engineering meetings "Sounds good, but I want to appear thoughtful so I'll pick some number that's not a 1 or a 10". In engineering, it's a peeve of mine when management does that - but usually because the delivery comes across as "I'd do it better" instead of "good job, can I provide some thoughts on how to make it even better") In any case, I think the other stuff is also very visible and has been for a long time. The signals have been flashing for decades. Trump and his followers are just turning the volume knob to '11' - and in a VERY objectionable way really IMO. What I initiated bold on above is probably the wisest statement on this entire thread. The skin over America's many festering boils is reeeaaaly getting tight - when will it pop? I don't know but when it does - Look Out!
