kallend 1,853 #1 November 8, 2012 Got my first "Leaving for Australia" viral email this afternoon, from a right wing source. So f**king ignorant they don't even know that OZ has socialized medicine, no death penalty, an atheist female prime minister, legalized abortion, gun controls, higher income tax rates than the USA, and is way more liberal than even the US Dems. Jeez, you Republicans, get an idea will you!... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

billvon 2,772 #3 November 8, 2012 >So f**king ignorant . . . A lot of anger there . . . . and keep in mind that lots of democrats said the same thing in 2004. If they want to leave I'll shake their hand and wish them farewell. No one has to stay here if they don't want to.

I thought that secretly you wanted to know so I told you." "That's your great idea?" "The latest in a long line. We get out of here alive, we go to Australia. Goodbye, Bolivia. Hello to Australia." "Australia is no better than here." "That's all you know." "Name me one thing." "They speak English in Australia." "They do?" "That's right, smart guy, so we wouldn't be foreigners. We'd blend in more easily. They got horses in Australia and thousands of miles of countryside that we can hide out in, and good climate. Nice beaches. You can learn to swim." "No. Swimming isn't important. What about the banks?" "Very easy. Easy, ripe, and luscious." "The banks or the women?" "Well, once you get one you get the other." "But... Australia is quite a long way from here." "Oh, please! Everything with you has got to be perfect!" "I just don't want to get there and realize that it stinks, that's all." "At least think about it." "All right... I'll think about it." "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Nobody who is really opposed to Obama is willing to admit that what they really hate is that he's black. And while there may be some who are actually opposed to his policies and political positions, Clinton had most of the same positions, but didn't get anywhere near the vitroil, particularly the "Socialist" label, when he tried national health care. You even see it on here. Some of the most vocal against Obama, while not admitting that their hatred of him is racial, also post comments that very strongly suggest a prejudice against blacks."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." JerryBaumchen 1,304 #12 November 10, 2012 Hi joe, Quote You know, that seems to be the "elephant in the room." Nobody who is really opposed to Obama is willing to admit that what they really hate is that he's black. Earlier this year I wrote a Letter to the Editor of my local newspaper. It went something like this: So I am curious as to why the Obama-haters hate him so much. So here is a poll for them: Why do you hate Pres. Obama: A. He is black B. All of the above JerryBaumchen PS) They did not print it.

D22369 0 #14 November 10, 2012 wow...just wow, so the fact that I hate obama and his agenda makes me a closet racist? I'll let my foster brother know that, he makes obama look light skinned. if I hate/dislike or am disgusted by a person its because of who they are, not what they are. dont lump all of us into the racist catagory. Roy No. Disliking Obama doesn't automatically make one a racist. I don't like Obama. I don't like his SC choices. I don't like his stance on guns (the real one based on his history, not the one he claims in TV ads). I don't like how he decided to do whatever he could to go around Congress instead of working with them (not that it would have been easy, but Clinton did it). But he's not Kenyan. He's not a Muslim. He's not a socialist. And it seems to me that he is getting a lot more criticism on these imaginary issues than previous Presidents. And it seems that a lot of those who are focusing on those imaginary issues say a lot of other things about other issues that have strong overtones of racism."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." CanuckInUSA 0 #21 November 10, 2012 If someone wants to leave their home country for political and/or economic reasons, well they better do their homework. Because they may find their new home is not what they thought it would be. I can't speak for Australia since I do not know enough about the various different regions, but for anyone who might want to emigrate to Canada, just know that Canada is not some generic country where every region is the same. If you are young and you seek work and have the skills or are willing to learn the skills. Then you will find Western Canada has plenty of opportunities for you. Just know that the cost of living in a place like Vancouver is almost as expensive as the Bay Area and while Alberta and Saskatchewan are more affordable and we desperately need skilled workers in these two provinces, the cost of housing here is not cheap. Oh and one more thing about Alberta and Saskatchewan, yes we have the best economy going in all of North America (and one of the best in the world), don't come here if you don't like cold winters with snow. Alberta's and Saskatchewan's climate can be very harsh when Mother Nature is reminding us just how powerful she can be. On the opposite end, a young person will not find a lot of economic opportunities on the East Coast. But if someone is retired and has money saved, well they can find much cheaper housing in the East than the West (just watch out for those Hurricanes during the fall months as they also tend to migrate to the Maritimes seeking their own retirement LOL). Ontario (Central Canada) is an option, but make sure you do your homework. Ontario's manufacturing economy is not firing on all of it's cylinders thanks it's largest customer (the USA) being in the economic troubles that it is in. You may find things just as bad if not worse than what you left. Quebec? LOL ... go there only at your own risk. Quebec's economy is bad and their politics is worse. Government, Labour Union and Mob corruption is out of control and a vocal minority in the province will absolutely hate your guts (this includes the current provincial government) if you can not speak French. So yeah make sure you do your homework before you leave your country of origin behind seeking greener pastures. You may find yourself in a worse predicament if you rush to judgment. Of course if America can not get a handle on it's out of control debt, maybe Australia and/or New Zealand is the place to be. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
