Cal Bill to Restrict Open-Carry

Recommended Posts

I guess this was going to come sooner or later.

Open-Carry

Open carry to some extent invites a bad guy to take it away from you. Now, if CA adopts a concealed carry permit then they are on to something.

Wait, I think I'm hearing the theme from the movie "Fat Chance."
Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

CA already has a concealed carry permit on it's books. But it's not a "shall issue" permit. And from what I've read you have to know a judge or be famous (or both) in order to get one.

That sounds easy enough.

sounds easy? most people only know a judge when they have done something wrong, not a good time to try and get a permit.

And how many cases of a gun being taken from a citizen can you find? I can't find any and if a gun was just taken from a guy you damn well know the media would be all over it.

Fact is that the majority of guns being taken by force from someone is a criminal taking one from an LEO who is trying to arrest them. Since the average criminal is going to avoid conflict, they are going to avoid a person who is armed *unless* they have no other option (like being arrested).

So please, find me some cases of a citizen with an openly carried weapon having the gun taken from him.

:S:S:S:S:S

While both CA and NY have weapons permits... It is next to impossible to actually get one.

Not my fault if you aren't famous or don't know any judges. Try harder.:P

Or toy rocket motors. Don't forget that horrible travesty of justice, when the BATF wanted to regulate really big toy rocket motors. Oh the horror!

Fail. There is no right to a pilot's license. You have to earn one.

Says you, I'll mark it down as a win. If "earning" a pilots license had an approval requirement that wasn't apptitude and fitness based, and instead required you to have connections you would squeel like a stuck pig.

If the states issued pilot licenses and there was a CA county that was restricting licenses, just because they were anti GA, for otherwise qualified pilots it would be waterworks at the Prefessers residence.

Like the judge consulted you as a friend of the court before making any decisions. Pick up your pants, John. You're inflated ego is showing.
My reality and yours are quite different.

The socialist sure do love their tyranny.

The pledge of allegiance was written by a socialist. Nowhere in the pledge is there reference to tyranny.
How do you figure that socialist love tyranny?

The socialist pledge of allegiance:

The original version.
I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Revision #1:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Revision #2:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all.
Really screwed up that the pledge was changed to reflect the view of a special interest group (Christians.)

If you have ever recited this, then you have pledge allegiance to socialism.
Do you not believe in the pledge? Are you anti-American?

When you're out of the blue and into the black."

Whatever floats your boat. Last I heard they weren't giving pilot certificates away, you still have to fulfill all the requirements.

There's no constitutional right to a CCW either. If a state says you have to do "X" to get one, then do "X" rather than whine about it.

Sucks for you that the Supreme Court agrees with the 2nd Amendment.

Nice dodge!

I clearly stated that you would have a big problem if pilot certificates were being issued by the states on a county by county basis, and people in certain areas were being denied certificates despite meeting all of the requirements of apptitude, health, training, and background.

So you would be OK this scenario playing out for you personally: you have a valid medical, you meet the flight currency requirements, have plenty of experince, but you can't fly you plane into CA's LA county because LA is restricting county pilot licenses on a basis that is not requirement based. All the while a select few can fly in LA because they are connected.

I don't expect an honest anwser from you, so keep dancing and dodging.

And here we get to the crux of the issue. The state law says do A B C & D to get your CCW,.

You do everything to meet A B C & D, by the letter of the law you are qualified. They deny you because of Z, which have nothing to do with the requirements set forth by the state. Z happens to be the fact that the county sherif denies all applications regardless of A B C & D, for everyone except his political buddies, oh and some of the movie stars that live there.

It is about equal treatment, if you say the requirments are A B C & D then everyone should have to meet A B C & D and you should be accepted or denied based on A B C & D.
