I dislike the 9/11 "truthers" just as much as the next guy, but saying it is synonymous with liberalism is like saying all conservatives are creationists.

More like frogs and toads.

All toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads.:)

the same thing that makes me say that all mushrooms are fungus, while not all fungus are mushrooms.

Actually no. Taxonomically, both frogs and toads inhabit the Anura order; and neither frogs nor toads are properly considered suborders of the other.

There you go with your science "facts" again.

Have you heard of the family "Bufonidae"?

Anura is the order
Suborders are
  • Archaeobatrachia (primitive frogs and toads)
  • Mesobatrachia (not-so-primitive)
  • Neobatrachia (most advanced): They have over 96% of frogs and toads.

The families are under the orders; the vast majority of the families have either frogs or toads, not both. The biggest frog family is ranidae; the biggest toad family is bufonidae.

So it's quite accurate to say that they seem to have evolved from common ancestors, but they're not members of the same family.

Yes. They are a subset of the Anura order. While many family subsets of Anura contain both frogs and toads, Bufonidae are the only family of Anurans all members of which are known as "toads." Nonetheless, Bufonidae are not a subset of any frogs, nor are any frogs a subset of Bufonidae.

ETA: Never insult the Bufonidae family in Jersey, or you'll wind up sleeping with the fishes.

Grammar was always kind of kinky -- she'd probably like that
