InflightSupv 0 #1 September 8, 2004 I woke up this morning and was kinda bummed at another day of work, until I looked at a Calendar and looked at the date. Do you guys know what is expiring in 5 days?? I'm gonna party all weekend.

JohnRich 4 #5 September 8, 2004 A friend of mine raised some interesting questions regarding the expiration of the so-called "assault weapon" ban. 1) We currently have "pre-ban" guns, and "post ban" guns. But with the passing of the expiration, we'll have a new category of guns - what are we going to call them? "Post-post ban" guns? Or maybe we should steal the term "post ban", and apply it now to the new "post expiration" period. But then what would call the guns made during the ban: "during ban" guns? This will all be so confusing... 2) Will the public now be able to purchase guns made during the ban for law enforcement only, and so marked, with the features previously banned to the general public? If a gun or magazine is stamped "LEO only", it won't really be applicable any more? 3) Can a gun made during the ban, say an AR-15 without a flash suppressor, now be modified after-the-fact, to add threads to the end of the barrel, and screw on a flash suppressor? Lions and tigers and flash suppressors, oh my!
