Newbie 0 #1 March 11, 2002 How do you "back up" log book info incase it goes missing?
ScottishJohn 25 #2 March 11, 2002 You could photocopy it, or scan each page and save it as an image file on a pc.I can't think of any other solution but I would be interested if anyone has any other ideas.
grosfion 0 #3 March 11, 2002 I use a Excel spreadsheet to backup my logbook once in a while. After a few hundred jumps it's much easier to look over it and calculate your freefalltime (if you are interested). If you have good eyes you can print 200 jumps on one page..bluesJoe
jtval 0 #4 March 11, 2002 your log book should be like your pc/ripcord. you need to know where it is at all times if you lose that you'll have some trouble at a new dz!getting high is fun, but coming down is the best partJT
SpinDoctor 0 #5 March 11, 2002 Manually type it into an XLS spreadsheet - and if necessary (through loss) get your CCI / DZO to endorse it. They should know roughly what you are up to anyway.Blue beer, cold skies
SkyDolphin 0 #6 March 11, 2002 If you do lose your logbook, check with your dz. If they are using manifest software, they will have a record of jumps in their computer. They may not have all the details of the jumps, but they may at least have a record of the numbers and dates.Rhonda

FallDown 0 #8 March 11, 2002 had mine stolen along with the car last november. didn't cry, just imagined all the different ways i could torture the bastards who took it with just a biro and a paperclip (not why them but there you go) fortunatly i mostly jump at one place and when i have been at other dz's its been with mates so was able to recreate the log from my home dz's master log books and my mates who i jump abroad with. and i had endorced by my cci incase anyone asked why most of the jumps have no details.and no it never leaves my side now unless its in a locked house or i'm jumping! SpinDoctor 0 #9 March 11, 2002 Compu - what....? Soft - what...?Hehehehehe - nah - we have slips of paper on our manifest... and that wouldnt take into consideration jumps done at other DZs. I've only been at it for 8 months and have been to 4 different DZs.Blu stuff
Slappie 9 #10 March 11, 2002 If you lose your logbook you will suddenly become a WHUFFO and have to start all over again. Or you could die about the same thing....My New Website with 24hr Chat
riggerrob 558 #11 March 11, 2002 Apply to USPA, CSPA, BPA, etc for licenses, awards, etc. on a regular basis. At least then - when you lose your logbook - you will have an official piece of paperwork from USPA saying that on such-and-such a date, you had X number of jumps and had demonstrated the following list of skills, yada, yada.If you lose the license, USPA can easily send you a copy.
