indyz 1 #23 November 7, 2003 Lots of stuff happened on October 12. Columbus "discovered" America. The USS Cole was bombed. The first Oktoberfest. The USSR put the first multi-person spacecraft in orbit. Robert E. Lee died. Khrushchev had a freak out in the UN. Stilwell died. But that all happened in years that I wasn't born. The best I can find in 1982 is that the Brewers beat the Cards 10-0 to start a seven game World Series. And a state rainfall record was set in Angoon Alaska (15.2").
