Grommet dies

Recommended Posts

Anyone know of a cheaper source for #8 grommet dies than some of the skydiving retailers? I need to replace a single #8 grommet and really do not want to have to spend almost $250 on what will basically be a single use tool.

Paragear says $215 for the cheap version. Best price elsewhere I've found is $248.

I think the $217 is less than it used to be. I'd have to look in my library. But, no. If you can FIND #8 it's usually as much.

Sub-contract to the guy with one.;)

I got mine from Lord & Hodge: http://www.lordandhodge.com/ Get a full price list from them, they have great deals on dies and grommets. Their #0 will do brass and stainless.

I don't remember the exact price but it was much, much cheaper than Paragear. You will be limited to brass #8s. The bigger stainless grommets can't be hand set.

Hey Phree ~ I asked much of the same question not long ago ~ check this out...

SAILRITE

They have the best prices on Grommet dies hands down. Also, they sent me a rebuilt kit for my 20u with an adapter for a new presser foot and upgraded spings ~ $100. They are a skydivers best friend.

Well I ordered on of juan's 70 something ones. We'll see how it works.

I've been using mine for about 5 years now. Works great.
Go thru their online catalogue. They have all kinds of stuff. Grommets, cable, hemostats, rigger knives. I get a lot of stuff from them.

Read the thread title & thought we'd lost one of the Muppets or a Smurf.

Almost posted a BSBD.
