cvfd1399 0 #1 December 19, 2004 I watched his show in discovery today about the D.B Cooper thing. Fun to watch. I love how he is down to earth about the sport and not skygodish
BillyVance 34 #2 December 19, 2004 He is a cool dude... you know he was the first to skydive from one plane and catch another one in freefall and climb inside? Not sure when he did that, but he did it..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

I could be wrong. Had not heard that Troy did it first.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

PhreeZone 15 #8 December 19, 2004 I think PdG did it WELL before Greg and crew did it. Patrick did it in his wingsuit and flew into the same Porter he jumped from.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

NickDG 23 #10 December 19, 2004 I like Troy too, and have known him for a long time. The most badass thing he ever did, on that short lived MTV show he hosted, was attaching himself to a bunch of small balloons and floating all the way from Lake Elsinore (I think) to Temecula. He descended by using a pellet gun to shoot out balloons . . . Oh, and Troy was not the first to do a plane to plane freefall transfer. That was Kevin Donnelly and/or Dar Robertson back in the 80s. Esp when he nearly got pulled off the back of it before he chopped the canopy._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 3ringheathen 0 #12 December 20, 2004 QuoteI think PdG did it WELL before Greg and crew did it. Patrick did it in his wingsuit and flew into the same Porter he jumped from. While impressive in it's own rite, it's not the same thing. Billy mentioned leaving one plane and climbing into another one. On a side note, I used to have footage of two guys leaving biplanes flying accross and switching. Anyone know who that was? -Josh If you have time to panic, you have time to do something more productive. -Me* *Ron has accused me of plagiarizing this quote. He attributes it to Douglas Adams. It was going to be Donley and Jerry Meyers, but Jerry twisted an ankle on the first attempt. It was first done by Kevin Donley for The Great Waldo Pepper movie. I think it was that movie, but it was Kevin who was the first. Dar Robinson also did shortly after that. kevin922 0 #14 December 20, 2004 I just got an email from him the other day, I don't think he posts here much - he's working on something right now for discovery called extreme survivial, getting shoulder surgery soon, and that's about it. For those who are interested, here is an interview I did with him a while back.
BillyVance 34 #15 December 20, 2004 Sorry, I should have said Troy was the only one I knew of who had done the plane to plane transfer, not the first... I just remember reading about his exploits in a magazine feature story... But don't remember when that story came out. I've never gotten the chance to do a plane to plane transfer. That's pretty unique stuff.
lowpullin1 0 #17 December 20, 2004 The wildest thing i seen him do was leaving the plane without a rig and getting one pasted to him in freefall and then putting it on. YahooLV 0 #18 December 20, 2004 Sorry, I know two guys, one being Jim Wallace, who each jumped from a bi-plane, crossed and climbed aboard the other plane and landed safely.
