new to web not to air

Recommended Posts

Hello to all my freefalling friends. I'm new to this website but have heard much about it and keep up with many of the posts through my awesome girlfriend the plfxpert. She keeps me in tune with with interesting goings on here at dz.com. I'm relly not good with this whole computer internet thing but I love to talk and hang out with the lucky people who are fortunate enough enjoy the sky and everything it has to offer as much as I. Ive been jumping for about 8 years and have just about 3000 jumps. I jump mainly in Florida but love to feel the air in as many different places as possible. Hopefully, now that I have a skydiving girlfriend (plfxpert) who has the itch to travel to all kinds of cool places to jump, I will get to see and meet many more skydiving brothers and sisters. Till then be safe, know your limits, excede them daily, but always stay on the safe side of the thrill!
Billy

I'm working my way up to 3000 jumps, too. Got 79 so far...

LOL! You crack me up Frank! If only eh? I hear ya!
Welcome BillyZ! You have a sweetheart of a girl, and I'm sure you're a great guy if you're with her. I anticipate that you'll bring a lot to the forums with your skydiving experience. I'm looking forward to chatting with you!

Don't know Skreamer...found it on a 'quote' website and liked it :) Let me know if you figure it out! *laugh* (Just didn't want to take credit for it since I'm not that 'deep' thinking :)

Hey Zennie-
Hope I can ask you questions too. Here's 2 for ya-
1. How do I put my (teeny-tiny!) picture in my bio?
2. If I want to reply to a part of someone's post, how do I get the little box around the words? Right now I just copy and paste what someone wrote, but it's not as cute.:)Envious of your geeky skills-
Andrea

1. How do I put my (teeny-tiny!) picture in my bio?

Click on Edit Profile and then Basic Profile. There's a box that asks you to provide a URL for you picture. My pic is located here:
http://www.dzsports.net/forums/Public/Uploads/Photo-285x213-zennie.jpg
So that's what I put. So you'll need to upload your picture to a website and link to it from there.

You mean like this? ;) Ya still have to so the copy & paste thing. Put the quote between [ quote ][ /quote ] tags.
I added spaces so that you could actually see the tag, not the brackets. Just take out the leading & trailing spaces and you'll get them. Make sense?

Here ya go skymama...
1) to put your picture in, you have to go to edit profile, then go to your personal info and then paste your URL of whereever you have your picture loaded (e.g. http://www.mypic.com/me.jpg) Also, be careful of what shape the original is, because the sizing here can squish it all kinds of ways. Here is a good thing to read: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forums/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=forumfaq&Number=9815&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5:)2)To put stuff in quotes, here is a good page for all of these special markups: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forums/faq_english.pl?Cat=#html
Hopefully this answers your questions, and Zennie, didn't mean to steal your thunder:)blue ones

I di it, I did it!:D
And, I just saw that it is included in the mark-up instructions by Sangiro. How embarassing! I always just looked at the smiley faces!
Thanks for your help! I'll work on my picture later. I'm supposed to be working.

Joe,
BZ will probably only check in once or twice a week so I just wanted to let you know that he'd be happy to do some video for you in Palatka. Actually, they have offered to staff him there as the video-guy so we might be there every so often since he'll be getting paid to jump that way. But definitely, let one of us know and we'll meet you there.
Much love and blue skies,
Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/
