ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 December 21, 2007 I can't say I have too many happy memories related to this time of year. Can't say I haven't tried to turn things around and make good ones, but after the events of this past year (Dad passing away from cancer and losing my job mostly due to missing time to be with family during those final months).....I can't even come close to the holiday spirit and just want 2008 to be here ASAP._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... skydiverbrian 0 #2 December 21, 2007 Good vibes your way, Bo. I'm not a Scrooge, but not really into the holiday, either. I send cards - that's about it. But I do belive in buying myself Christmas presents ... so I'm off to the Invasion next week! Look out Sebastian -- one of 'those guys' is coming to jump! In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
2fat2fly 0 #3 December 21, 2007 It's no coincedence that I was born the year that "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" was released-don't hate it, just don't get in to itI am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
PeteW 0 #4 December 21, 2007 I just hate how Xmas is all about going broke buying presents. All I want for Xmas is nothing. But my family persists and keeps buying presents for me. I keep telling them to send cash so I can send it to a charity.

RALFFERS 0 #9 December 21, 2007 I don't think I'm a scrooge, than again, I could be in denial. I'm not much in the holiday season either, and wish I could just spend it with someone, or even by myself if need be. We all live 30-40 minutes apart from one another, yet only see each other 3-4 times a year, tops. I have reached to both of my sisters countless times, and every time it's "we're busy, I have to go see my friend; we're going on vacation" or " I have dinner plans with such & such - sorry." I'd understand if something came up every now & then, but every single goddamn time?... So I finally figured, screw it, I'm not gonna pretend like we're family just because it's a "holiday." The hilarious part is ever since my family learned I'm working on moving down to Florida, they all ask "aren't you going to miss me?" etc, etc... My answer? "I don't see you often enough to miss you."Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

lawrocket 3 #11 December 21, 2007 How did Scrooge turn out? "Many laughed to see this alteration in him, but he let them laugh and little heeded them. His own heart laughed and that was quite enough for him. And it was always said of him that he knew how to keep Christmas well if any man alive possessed the knowledge." We have it in all of us. Merry Christmas to you, good sir! And I wish you all the best in this coming year. My wife is hotter than your wife.
mamajumps 0 #12 December 21, 2007 Yep, Christmas hasnt been the same since I was 15, that year I was left to sleep on the couch while my dad, his new wife and new kids opened presents. That has been compounded over the last 17 years by Christmas being too comercialized and not many people remembering the true meaning of Christmas! usedtajump 1 #13 December 21, 2007 I used to be a major Scrooge this time of the year mostly because of disgust with the crassness of the commercialism but then we wised up and stopped all this gift giving bullshit and all that implies. Now the family, or what little's left of it , gets together simply because we want to cherish the only gift that really matters, that of celebrating the ones that are still here and the newer ones that have come along in the last few years. Hell of a lot better deal than before for everyone involved. The older I get the less I care who I piss off.
NtheSeaOrSky 0 #14 December 21, 2007 This time of year has never been a great time for me, and the past few years have been absolutely brutal BUT this year, I am too busy making it fun for other people that I haven't been dreading it at all...I am actually enjoying it AND all the glitter you glitter haters Life is not fair and there are no guarantees... Jewels 0 #19 December 21, 2007 LOL I am hopelessly NOT a Scrooge. I love gift-giving, not just for the sake of spending money, but for trying to find something special for the people I love. I love the snow we're about to get. I love the music and the lights and I still believe there's something magical about it all. I guess I'm in the wrong thread.
