I think this "thing" about riding bikes without helmet comes from back in the days...with gangs like Hells Angels and other rad dudes doing what they could to be on the wrong side of the law:ph34r:, the bikes those bad boys where riding wasn`t exactly speed machines.. but many of them used some kind of KKK look-a-like mouth covers ...now, today i like to think that many of those bikers who choose to ride without helmet is some kind of HA wannabees. Nothing wrong with that..we all have our heroes:P,

.

Yeah, the reason i don't want to wear a helmet is I'm a "wannabe" :S I wannabe like these "nice" people. ;):P

Ever jumped without a helmet? Oh, ever jumped? :D

dont really know why you're picking on me, but in this country, wearing a helmet on a motorcycle is mandatory for a looooong time. and i dont think its a bad idea..

oh, and i like my aad, but wouldnt care for a skyhook/RSL. if you want to crush your melon on the road, go for it. i wouldnt even wanna ride a motorcycle anymore.. ;)

Just in response to your comments.
I fully agree riding with a helmet is much safer - most of the time.
But I think it should be my choice whether I wear one or not.
Gearing up with ALL the gear your typical BMW rider (HEY Dan!) wears takes away a big part of the fun for me.
I want to feel the wind and enjoy the ride, not fear it.

i'm the last one to tell you what you should or have to do and what not. and since i wouldnt ride a bike anyway.. i dont even care much for the helmet question. but if i rode one, i'd put one on. there isnt much around you on a bike, and i wouldnt want to fuck up my face nor my brains. which is very likely you will if you fall. and as we all know, there's a whole shitload of people out on the streets out to kill you.. :P

Anybody who rides a motorcycle without a helmet is an idiot. Plain and simple.

Anyone who thinks anyone who rides without a helmet is an idiot, is an idiot.

Ok, so 41 replies and one or two came somewhere in the vicinity of the topic.

Lucky for you to those that are in bug free places. South Texas unfortunately does not fall into that category!

So, for those of you that wear something other than a full face or nothing at all, especially you folks in places with love bug infestations, etc., how the hell do you do it?

I've taken a couple hits to the neck as kbordson mentioned and it sucked!

edit: spelling

ok seriously, at a minimum FULL
eye protection. Once with those
cool looking skinny wrap arounds
a bug hit the edge and splattered
into my eye. I almost lost it on that
one. Switched to impact resistant
safety glasses with interchangeable
lenses that fully covered my eye
sockets.
