need a compromise movie

The only funny parts were Doug-related

Because it is animated it HAS to be funny? It was just an honest to god feel-good movie. Left me with a big smile. Maybe I'm just a sucker for movies like that.

Big Fish is another feel good movie. It even choked me up a bit at the end!

Most of the time, yes. (We are only talking about G, PG-rated animated films, right?)

I love a good story, too. I did not think Up was feel-good at all as far as "love stories" go. I would discuss in more detail, but do not want to spoil for those who might be interested in seeing it (or forced to by their children. :P)

Yup. Wall-E wasn't that funny and I thought it was a good movie. Same with The Incredibles. Maybe I just like Pixar films and you don't?:P

One of my all-time favorites is My Cousin Vinny.

Wendy P.

Good flick. That one's becoming a classic.
A rather obscure movie I liked was "The Pope of Greenwich Village" with a young Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts and Daryl Hannah. Also, "The Coca Cola Kid" with Eric Roberts. For comedy try "Top Secret".

Shawshank Redemption.

It's on netflix instant streaming, even! :P

One of the best movies ever, and it's pretty gender-neutral.

Or how about Field of Dreams? A guy movie disguised as a chick flick ;) Or maybe the other way around. Either way, it's one of my favorites...but then again i'm not a typical girl.

Given his stated history, I would not venture to say "obscure" is what he would be in to.

OTOH, maybe obscurity is just what he needs to be turned to the dark side of amazing movie watching. >:(

:P

There are several fantastic movies* I would have loved to start a thread about, but due to their content would be against forum rules. [:/] I started one once that really should not have been deleted in that the "act in question" was not the theme of the movie.

Edit: *Example (not the thread-movie deleted): Hounddog gets 5/5 stars from me.

And also Kevin Kline's character's line, repeated a few times... "ASSHOLE!!!" :D

First-we read so we're clueless on veg in front of a movie but that's what we're going to do tonight. What's a good compromise movie. something a lady will like but won't be so estrogen soaked that I can't take it. Thanks

I'm probably too late for tonight but check out my all time fave movie ...
So I Married an Axe Murderer

It has love. It has murder. It has comedy. It has meat. :D:D

What more could a couple ask for! :D:D:D:D

Lost in Translation great flick

I just watched it a couple weeks ago.
I agree it would be a good compromise;
It is a chick flick, so she will like it,
but all the gratuitous scenes with Scarlett Johansson walking around
in her panties will keep him from complaining too much.
