Southern_Man 0 #1 November 8, 2010 I thought he would be fired at the final whistle last night. So far, nothing, at least that I can tell. Wow, that was some game last night."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
beowulf 1 #2 November 8, 2010 I am not sure I would call that a game. There was only one team on the field! The other guys were just a group of men that happened to wear the same uniform.
matthewcline 0 #3 November 8, 2010 JJ said in an interview he would not make a coaching change mid season any more, he learned that a team can't recover from that. But an end of season change was not out of the question. MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
beowulf 1 #4 November 8, 2010 Recover from what??? They are currently at rock bottom. Changing the head coach can't possibly make things any worse then they already are.
matthewcline 0 #5 November 8, 2010 I dunno ask JJ, he said it. But the Bills are at rock bottom, the Cowboys are close though! MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
Southern_Man 0 #6 November 8, 2010 I didn't think he had ever made a mid-season coaching change? Can't remember any. In any case, he can't make things any worse. That team was terrible. Of course, I am an Eagles fan, so I quite enjoyed it."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
normiss 622 #7 November 8, 2010 he lied I still want to know how, when, why they became "America's Team"???
matthewcline 0 #8 November 8, 2010 I guess from the Pre-game talk he had with Al to the post game discussion with the fans, he changed his mind! So this begins the "rebuilding year"? MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
beowulf 1 #9 November 8, 2010 Ok, I stand corrected. The Bills are at the very bottom with an 0-8 record. I will be very surprised if the Cowboys manage to win another game this year.
normiss 622 #10 November 8, 2010 I think it will almost always be "rebuilding year" as long as JJ's ego is in the mix. Being owner and GM isn't working.

You simply can't fire a head coach and expect the players to pick up a new system the new coach brings in and expect to get anywhere in midseason. regulator 0 #12 November 8, 2010 and with all the parody in the nfl, they could be back in the thick of things next year. Look at my team...the Bucs. Last year we were 3-13. Now we are 5-3. Anything can happen on any given sunday when you are playing the best of the best in the nfl.

I don't expect this season to be any better even with a new coach. I think bringing in a new coach is needed so that the Cowboys have a better season next year. At this point it can't make things any worse. Wade Phillips doesn't appear to be able to motivate this team at all.

regulator 0 #15 November 8, 2010 With Jason Garrett as the new HC. They wont have to learn any newer systems and might win a few games down the stretch to screw themselves out of a better draft pick in april.

Basically JJ said that, historically, when a team switches head coaches during the middle of the season it doesnt turn out well. Even if that coach comes in and wins a some games. It just sets everyone up for unrealistic expectations for the next year. I guess he is really saying. Guys, we are sticking this season out with Wade and you can shoot him when its over. We just wanna make sure we give you enough ammo to shoot him up good.Dom
