Amazon 7 #1 January 19, 2012 http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sunearth/news/News011912-M3.2flare-cme.html A long duration M-class flare began erupting on the sun at 8:42 AM ET on Thursday, January 19. The flare is shown in the above movie from the Solar Dynamics Observatory in a combination of light wavelengths. An earth-directed coronal mass ejection was associated with the solar flare. NASA's Space Weather Services estimates that it is traveling at over 630 miles per second and will reach Earth some time on Saturday, January 21, when strong geomagnetic storms are possible and viewers can be on the look out for increased aurora. Amazon 7 #7 January 20, 2012 Quote Oh, thank goodness. I thought we had more ice storms coming our way. Vskydiver and I have no power in Orting. Howzit up North? Just lots and lots of SNOW.... about 14" here... with a couple brushes with some freezing rain.. but nothing like down your way... I shoveled off my rather low angled roof to make sure I did not have all the weight when the snow starts absorbing even more water.. this crap is heavy. It collapsed a white 10x20 tent that I am storing some building materials in for some house projects... I did not get to it in time... the Costco tent is sturdier.. I have mny firewood in it. I weighed a shovelfull 14"x12"x18" and it was almost 22 pounds yesterday.. today its even worse. I am not going to be "That person" with the collapsed carport/roof. I am officially tired of this shit.. I live where I do so I can drive up to the snow to play in when I want to.. I hate it when it comes to visit me

It better be better by Sunday. Glad your roof hasn't caved in. Be careful up there. Lot of peeps w/snow shovels have done unintentional winter base jumps off their roofs. If a restaurant supply shop doesn't have something big enough, try the Boeing plant where they have big sheets of aluminum they turn into airplanes. BTW, if we do have a solar flare this weekend, I just have to worry about it frying my generator. 230,000 peeps have no electricity this weekend in West. Washington.
