'Muricans taste Australian food

Recommended Posts

I was in Perth and Sydney, via U.S. Navy, in 1981 and had the opportunity to try vegemite. I tried it and that is all I can say about it, other than saying that shit is awful. I guess you just have to acquire a taste for it.

Seriously laughing out loud:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:
Nobody eats vegimite by the spoonful:|:ph34r::D

Had it on toast during breakfast. The woman I was with seemed to like the stuff. It was her kitchen, after all.;)

I actually like vegimite(am american)but you are definitely correct, it is an acquired taste. And you should start with VERY small amounts, not spoonfuls LOL

What does it really taste of?
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

I have some marmite here, but no vegemite.
Best description I can give of the marmite is:
There was a fire in the Guinness brewery, and they put it out with salt water.

Try World Market.

It may have changed in the past 30+ years, but when Men At Work hit it big, a lot of people here in the US wanted Vegemite. It turned out that the shelf life was short enough that it was difficult to get it here, through the supply chain and onto the shelf before it expired.

I've never had any great desire to try it myself.
