Same name, different location. Better location now in my opinion. Massive hangar with plenty of packing space. The staff is nice and the people are friendly.

Brand new hanger big enough for an Otter with indoor packing. Large comfortable WOFO area. Large comfortable class room. And the list goes on. The landing area is huge with plenty of wind indicators. The staff is very upbeat and friendly. If you are camping there is a new shower house at the campgrounds also with electricity at each campsite.

I gave it another shot, well a couple of shots. First, Skydive Tecumseh is not in Tecumseh, it’s in Napoleon. Turns out the DZ moved and kept the old name. No problem, I can drive an extra half our after the last hour because I enjoy it. The caravan isn’t the jump ship anymore, or the Pac, or even the Kodiac, it’s a King Air. I dislike King airs because they can’t slow down and they are terrible for maintenance issues. No problem, I couldn’t jump it this visit because it was out for repair.

Determined to give the place another try, I headed out for another visit. I had to sign up for their “Big Brother” software to get on a load. I’m pretty sure I just opted to sell all my personal info to the KGB by using this crazy program but that’s ok because I want to skydive. I waited for the tandem work to slow, about an hour, to get on a load. I shared a few jumps with some nice, moderately experienced jumpers and enjoyed the well-kept landing area. They may have such plush lawn from recycling the poo from the overflowing porta-poty, really I almost yacked looking at this thing. After finding a semi private place to whiz near the hangar, I still wasn’t scared off.
I was determined to continue enjoying the day until the owner made an announcement…on a bullhorn! Apparently the sport jumpers weren’t packing fast enough for his taste so he began chastising them with a portable mic and bullhorn. I packed my rig, put my gear in the car, paid for my jumps, deleted the big brother app and left. Good luck on all your future business endeavors.

My fourth stop on a long trip and after my last DZ experience I needed something like this. From the second I pulled up to the minute we pulled out the place was truly amazing.
I brought a Veteran friend out for his first skydive and they did EVERYTHING to make sure that it happened and that he had a fantastic time. Very willing to hear what I had to say about my trip.
Tecumseh is a long way from were I live, but I visit a friend in Michigan every few years. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back here to jump.
I had done something that a experienced local jumper did not care for. He very quietly took me to the side and explained what he had a problem with and provide me with a few tips for traveling to all of these drop zones. It was done in a very professional manner was greatly appreciated.
If you are thinking about going to Tecumseh stop thinking about it and just go you won't be disappointed. Thank you all!

I'm a cargo pilot and got stuck flying a bunch of cargo into Ypsilanti On Easter morning. Decided to bring my rig and hit up Tecumseh by myself after working.

I was the first to show up for the day and hung out with the staff and the Canadian (eh) fun jumpers until it was time to fire up. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, not clique-y at all. I have around 60 jumps and jumped with several different groups. Didn't have to jump alone at all (which I still would have been cool with). It was even 70 degrees and sun!

The Caravan gets up to altitude pretty quickly (and even has benches!!!). There is a lot to look at from the air and a ton of references on the ground for organizing and planning multiple group dives on the load. The tandems looked like they had a great time hanging out and jumping too.

Bottom line: if I'm within a couple hour drive on a day off, I'll be here. Check it out!

This is a drop zone that is a fair, friendly and professional place to enjoy. Instructions, jump coordination, just everthing is nice. The landing zone is also an awesome setup and plenty of space.
Their plane goes up to 14,000 in which is not normal from what I have seen at 3 different drop zones....

Thanks guys (and gals)

I started training for my A licence 3 weeks ago and have had a great experience every time I have gone out to jump. A little bit of a drive for me, 50 minutes, but the experience is worth it.

After a lot of hard work the great crew at Skydive Tecumseh was able to help me get my A-license. I've never had so much fun in my life. I cannot emphasize enough how great the staff is at this dropzone! I look forward to many jumps there, and would highly recommend anyone even remotely interested in skydiving come out and visit!

Made my first jump there in 1987. Been there almost every weekend during the season for the past 10 years. Skydive Tecumseh keeps getting better every year.

New owners are motivated to make everyone happy and are constantly improving services.

No drama. No waiting to get on a load. No problems.

I have not found a better dz in Michigan than Skydive Tecumseh

This is to Mudman. I owe this person an apology. His description of the events that day are accurate. I especially liked "Juggling Amputees" Good Stuff! I like "3 Monkees fu***ng a football" but hey, it all works.Nonetheless, we were still in the Poop in Group stage and things have improved a bit since that day. When I got my ratings, I vowed never to let someone get ignored like I did when I went thru AFF and I allowed that to occur on that day. I truly regret letting this happen. There is never enough time in a day to get everything done. I usually am up around 6-6:30 in the morning and that is when I like to get the paperwork and stuff done. If not, come out on Fri. nite and will do it after dark. I don't mind staying up as long as necessary and I don't really like to drink. You can stay in my A/C trailer or bring an air mattress and crash in the student rm. Again, A/C. We'll get the particulars out of the way and we can spend our day jumping.Wherever you end up, I hope you stay jumping and stay in the air.

I started my student progression here at the end of last season and was immediately welcomed and taken in by some of the most amazing people I've ever met. My IAD instructors and coaches have been extremely supportive every step of the way, making my first jumps (which were hardly perfect) the beginning of a great learning experience. I can’t count how many times in the past months I’ve heard “Get your license already so we can jump together!” and now that I’ve FINALLY got it I can’t wait to learn as much as I can from this diverse group of jumpers. It’s also been really exciting watching the dedication of the new DZO, staff, and regular jumpers who have come together to help transform the DZ this year (you guys ROCK!)

I had a great experience with Skydive Tecumseh. I was directed there by a friend of mine who works there. I took a tandem jump with video. My tandem instructor was very nice and fun. He kept me more excited than nervous and answered all my questions with useful explanations.
My video jumper was also very nice and kept me excited. They were both fun to be around and made my jump even more amazing.
I was also impressed with the skills and safety of our pilot. I felt very comfortable in our aircraft.
The atmosphere at Skydive Tecumseh was also very enjoyable. I was welcomed and taken care of quickly. I came to dive alone, bringing no family or friends for support, but I didn't feel like I was alone at Tecumseh; everyone was kind. They told me stories of their jumps and I felt like I'd known these people for a long time.
I would most definitely come back to Tecumseh for another dive.

I am glad I jumped here before reading the reviews. If I had read the reviews first, I may not have jumped there and would have missed one of the best jump weekends I've had. This place is full of talent from RW to freeflying to wingsuits. I learned a lot and had a great time. We did multi-plane formations, never done that before. Yes, it was busy, but I always thought that was a good thing. It means they have a strong following and they are growing. I talked with the owner, Franz, and he assured me they are working through the growing pains and will continue to get better and better. I can't wait to go back and see how Franz will make it even more fun.

What else do you want? Indoor packing, free camping with showers & laundry, lots of experienced people whether you're into freeflying, RW, or swooping. A really fun crowd of regulars and a good time, day and night.

I have been jumping at Tecumseh for 5 years and it is my home DZ. The place is great and I love jumping here. Everyone is welcomed and always leaves with smiles and great stories to tell. This year has been a great one so far with the new owner Franz coming in and cleaning up the place and adding a new clean look. Most of the DZ is under construction and is being worked on but is looking better than it has in a long time. There is plenty of packing, camping, landing & chill space. It is set up perfect for any skill level and the outs are all over the place if you need them.

This is the best DZ in Michigan. I started off here a bit unsure of myself and I had nothing but solid support and excellent instructors (Ryan, Karl, Brian) along the way. Had it not been for the positive vibe at Tecumseh I would not be where I am today!

Tecumseh has a big wide open landing area that has been segregated for HP landings and standard pattern landings, and the student area is free of obstacles, you couldn't ask for a better area to land in.

Facilities are great, showers, camping room, indoor packing, etc. And the bonfires at the end of the day are the best!

Whether you come for IAD, AFF, or to do a Tandem you will be handled with professionalism. The transition to new ownership has been quite successful, and I can't wait to see how this place grows.
Thanks Franz!

I was warmly welcomed by the staff but mostly ignored by the regulars in the course of my 3 day stay. This DZ is the definition of "clique". I was never asked about my experience level or ever invited on a skydive by any regular. I can't remember that ever happening at any DZ I've ever visited in all my years in the Sport. If it wasn't a staff member I was jumping with it was always solo's. I went for the Summer Boogie and the opportunity to jump with Freefly and RW Load Organizers. I even ask manifest to set me up with a LO but I was never approached or invited to participate in a organized skydive. The Freefly Organizer seemed more interested in jumping with the same 3 young ladies all weekend and the RW Organizer promised he'd get back to me but never did.

Thankfully the Landing area is large and spread out along the runway because I witnessed numerous 270 and 180 HS landing patterns executed with total disregard to traffic. The HS swoopers seemed pampered and unwilling to break off a pattern. If you want to land in the main area please keep that in mind but I just moved my landings further down the runway although it resulted in a much longer walk. Mostly these are excellent canopy pilots but I wish they had a little more regard for others.

This DZ has alot to offer and the Facilities are nice enough. Good Showers but not enough restrooms. I'm reluctant to return for the reasons stated above, Hopefully things improve safety wise and they edit the description on Dropzone.com because they no longer fly an Otter but a Caravan. The Caravan is nice with lots of windows but seemed slower then other Caravans I jumped from. Unless I bring friends with me to jump with I doubt I'll return anytime soon.

Skydive Tecumseh has the most jumper friendly atmosphere I have seen (only been to 3 other DZ's though). Everyone is safety orenented and they dont mind telling anyone when they are in the wrong. Yes the toga parties and bon fires rock and it is always fun to watch all the great canopy pilots landing.

This is the DZ I jump at during the school year. My first time there, they accepted me as part of the group and I began to hang out there more and became very comfortable.

They were always helping me with jumps and getting me towards my 'A' License. After the jumping is done, everyone hangs out and there is always room to crash.

You can learn so much from everyone there. They're all down to earth and are willing to teach you anything as long as you're willing to listen, learn, and have a good time.

They still jump in the winter, but winter itself in michigan blows...

Skydive Tecumeh is where I learned to jump through the AFF program back in 2003. It has been my home dropzone since.

The staff and jumpers are all very friendly and helpful.

I would suggest that anyone in the area who skydives or is interested in learning should make it a point to visit Skydive Tecumseh.
