I did both of my two at Z-hills...what a blast! There's always a big crowd (lots of laughs ) watching the "landings"... The huge landing area has a lot of light from the deck and hanger. So everyone clear - Z-hills is also planning night jumps on the 11th...the cost is a jump ticket plus $5 for the rental of the strobe, glow sticks, etc. I suppose if you bought your jump ticket when blocks were still $16 each, you could say that they are $16... Night jumps at Z-hills are a lot of fun - it's just a question of getting enough jumpers signed up (and weather of course). Another suggestion - only stay in an attempt (when doing a solo) for about 5 seconds. Then transition back to a sit; get stable and cartwheel back to head down. Do this even if you feel stable. This will help you with a couple of things: 1) the most important reason is it will reduce the amount of airspace you cover (safety must be a part of any dive) and it also allows you to feel if you were sliding or tracking. 2) it will give you practice with transitions - the biggest waste of time during any of my coach jumps was spent trying to get stable after a transition. In the long run, you'll be a better freeflier. Another good exit to help with relaxing and feeling the transition off the hill is the "Zen dive": Face the front of the aircraft in a floating position and lightly leave the door as if you were doing an RW jump with these changes: keep your hands on your elbows (you have your arms crossed against your stomach), legs straight and spread about shoulder width, no arching and relax. It sounds funny, but it worked for me - it might work well for you...

Just curious if anyone is doing anything "special" for their wing suit transportation and storage needs...dedicated gear bag, duffle, etc. Someone asked me if the suit needed to be kept under any special conditions; seems like it ought to be treated like a canopy (same material, right?) as far as storage, but it got me thinking about the best method for transport... My Samurai (loaded at 1.4) has been good to me, but there were a lot of cautions from the other BM on the DZ... It all depends on what you are comfortable with: I've had line twists all the way up that I could kick out of (most of the time it just keeps flying straight). Every now and then it will dive in a slow spin, but I'm ready for it - so, it's OK as long as I'm not trying to open below 3000'... But, echoing everyone else - go with the more docile on your first jumps...you have enough to worry about with all the new housekeeping after opening. Older GTI, 'cause I'm just getting started. Con is it doesn't have all the nice options a Skyflier has -- a hook knife pocket, snaps for booties, LQRS, etc. Pro is perfect fit and a bonus that it matches my colors. Absolutely Sony - the steady cam setting is the best for Freefly camera. I'm guessing you are just going to video your jumps and work on the skills, right? It all started when... BM came to Z-hills for demos; one of the BMIs felt ok with my wife doing a demo with extensive instruction (she's just under 200 jumps) and an instructor along side, but the weather turned before we got a chance to jump a suit. The following weekend, I tried to setup a demo at Deland, but as no one knew our skills, they would not agree to a demo for her...Colon Berry offered to have her try a pair of proto-type tracking pants (Check out the attached picture) to get the feel of a suit without the added worry of the wings (sounds like a good idea). I tagged along with a demo pair of Pantz - I fell like a rock next to her! When we landed, she had that first hit look on her face..."LET'S GO AGAIN!" We went again, but I wore my camera wings as well. It worked out pretty well - we flocked within 20 feet until break off... I bought a GTi today
