  1. Nope. It is, however, regulated and unlike guns and ammo, the bar tender is held responsible for giving people too much. I've never had to get a background check and wait a few days when buying a beer. Nor have I had to have a special permit to hold a beer in the pocket of my jacket. 2. I think a few He had (if I remember correctly) one of those 100 round drum type magazines Most of those that people can afford do not work very well It they worked better the military and LEO's would use them That's pretty much the reason why magazines stay @ 30 rounds. They get really unreliable when they get big. I'd much rather see some idiot with a 100 round drum than say, 6 30 round magazines that are duck taped in pairs. The former doesn't know what he's doing. The latter probably does. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  3. Saw this in there: "When you've got a dead body, there's nobody to speak the other side," Megale said. "If that gets out, if people start understanding that, there really is an incentive to shoot to kill rather than shoot to injure." You should always shoot to kill, IMHO, until the threat is stopped. 4. Same. My only thought was, "Well, here we go" and out came the reserve. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  5. Rgr, thanks. I pack my own anyway :) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  6. You should have had a third choice; 3. Lets wait until all the facts come out until we start to crucify those Jack-booted thugs. +1 You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  7. Ok, 2nd question. I rigged it up with the above advice (thanks again), marked where I skipped and what not for later. Now then, once I'm down and the rig is off, do I need to take the wings off to pack or can I lay it down (as shown)? Since I only had time for one jump today, I just took the wings off, put the suit away and then packed. Anywho, maybe I'm being a little OCD about this, but will packing as shown cause excess wear or something else I'm not aware of? Thanks! 8. That makes perfect sense, and you along with the others have shed light on the mystery, thanks. As it turns out, I'm skipping #4 on both, so it's easy to remember. Thanks a ton! p.s. oh, and where I did my FFC, it was a smaller dz, so the few suits they had to demo were all newer and there wasn't one like this to show at all. 9. very handy, thanks :) You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  10. Was looking at a phantom 2 where the cutaway for the wings runs down the chest instead of the arms. Since the only suit I've jumped was an I-bird, this was a different setup and was curious about it. How does rig get attached to this since it seems that the cables block the hole for the hip? Or is there a trick (and while I'm thinking about it, is it that annoying?)? I tried looking at PF's online manual, but it seems they only have the manual up for the newer routing system. Thanks! 11. Its interesting to note that outside of the USA in first world countries that allow firearm ownership its for the purpose of either hunting or target shooting not self defence. Protection of society is seen as the job of the police. Even before the handgun ban in the UK you couldn't carry or own for self defence. Switzerland comes to mind as being directly against that. 12. Actually, internal tests by the TSA show a failure rate of 50-80% (about) on weapons getting through. Airport security its a sham. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  13. Are you aware that it's not possible to buy automatic weapons from FFL in the US? Sure you can from a Class 3 FFL. They are really expensive and you have to pay a fee to the ATF and go through some special paper work and back ground check. I think there has only been like one or two crimes committed by a legal owner of a full auto weapon with said weapon since this went into effect and it's been that way for a long time. Not sure how long. You can also buy full auto if they are on the Curio and Relic list too. No need for a Class III at that point. 15. Outside of a few people of the Rhuwandian persuasion, I would thing killing twenty something people at one time with a machete is not too likely. If by a few you mean 800,000, then yeah... Also, China apparently has had 20+ killed (other thread) http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/man-attacks-22-kids-knife-china-school-article-1.1220230#ixzz2F49sUxRf "No motive was given for the stabbings, which echo a string of similar assaults against schoolchildren in 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50. " People have been slaughtering each other in mass long before gunpowder was invented. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  16. Mexico doesn't allow guns. Take a look at their shooting statistics. Might want to take a look at the Rwanda genocide. Nearly a million slaughtered with machetes. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  17. Not sure if this was picked up in here 2 months ago, but there are a dozen LEOs apparently testifying in defense of Zimmerman. That doesn't bode well for the prosecution. http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2012/10/24/breaking-orlando-sentinel-reporting-leo-chain-of-command-will-testify-for-the-defense-in-zimmerman-trial/ You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

  19. If I could find a used phantom in my size, I'm sure it would jump to the top of my list. Doesn't seem to be a lot around on the classifieds for stuff that fits me :( You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  20. Well, based on the 3 replies above, looks like I'll still be looking around. Thanks! You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
  21. Okay, so I searched, I promise, but I didn't see much of anything at least in terms of specifics on what I wanted to know. The short of it is, I did my first flight course last weekend (which was awesome!) and I'm now looking at what's out there in terms of getting myself a suit. My one and only jump was on an I-bird, and this weekend I'm hoping to get at least a few more on it (dz loaner). So, that being said, I saw on Chuting Star they have a few Skyflyers (http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/used-gear/jumpsuits) which are all a perfect fit for me (I'm just under 6'2", 180#), but I really don't know much about these suits other than they are older. Are these skyflyers purely intro suits like the i-bird? Or are they considerably more advanced? Will I out grow it fast or will it be too much for me to really get any use out of? My initial thought was to try and find a t-bird and use that for a year or two before going up a notch. But if $600, and even if i only use it for a year (and can learn from it) and sell it for half that, I'd be happy. What I obviously don't want is something too big (where I learn nothing) or something I'll hit the development wall with. So any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks! 25. I think that at times, but then a large part of me is glad I didn't. I'd have probably killed myself, to be honest. You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.
