  1. Woaaa! after checking your link I`m now considering changing the sport :D Is this a real stuff or something like Bonsai kittens?
  2. Oh really? What is your original nick?
  3. hmm, it was `a bunch` like those balloons for children. I guess, if someone goes `through them´ in free fall it might influence the opening. And I wonder if that ever happend? It looked really nice... so big bunch of balloons passing by :D
  4. Few months ago while climbing on the altitude we spotted a huge bunch of balloons flying at approximatly 2500ft. Did ever anyone experienced problems during jump with this kind of "UFO´s"?
  5. what´s "rough" anyway? On one of my first static line exits... JM asked me "are you ready" I said `no´ and I made a clear movement with my head indicating I´m not ready. He pushed me through the door. Is that rough? Well, appeared rough to guys that were in the plane behind me, waiting to be dropped for the first static line jump... to me, that "push" was exactly what was needed.
  6. he´s just attracted to you in some strange SM way :D
  7. are you sugesting that people going to the tunnel are "pussies"?
  8. use all means to improve yourself. And `just jumping from the plane´ is certainly not the only way to improve your free fly abilities. Even more, some abilities you cannot develop by just jumping from the plane. Good PLF is impossible to learn with `just jumping`. Spinning without gettig dizzy, the same story. Even more, tunnel time is much cheaper than a jump. For me, a jump is relaxation and not the training. If you have any worries prior the jump, I would say don´t do it. Those worries tend to enlarge on the altitude...
  9. Hey! this one is killer! it's not allowed to jump with a camera - even with goPro, untill you're licenced to jump with one.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpapAtcjR1I Line Twists Even a dummy can kick out of em! I couldn't find the vid I was really looking for, somewhere there is one of a guy deploying what looks like a Para-commander in an outdoor 'tunnel'...THAT one was scary! Please find that one and post it. please do :) This dummy was able to "solve" a twist IMHO because "he" was extremely lightweight.
  11. go take some wind tunnel time and it will help you a lot. I was scared to hell before my first solo jump from 13000ft. So I took some wind tunnel training before it and on the first free fly jump I was stable as a rock :D
  12. imagine waterlanding with this stuff hohoho. No thanks I´d rather remain conservative and alive. :)
  13. IMHO it would be easier to convince a human being to make such high risc jump than a monkey. So far about human "intelligence".
  14. People are craving for attention... And some are obviously prepared to die just to get some. Neglect all accidents made during showing off (swoop, base, camera, rw) or trying to show off (training for those activities)... and you'll end up with just a few accidents indeed. A "quick attention win" is also an interesting phenomenon. Those are the jumps where no previous training is required - like tandem jumps. Since tandem jumps obviously does not get enough attention anymore, let's go step further "wingsuit tandem jumps" :) Who cares for safety if there's enough attention!
  15. When it comes to decisions "safety" or "money making" you can guess for yourself who is gonna win. It has nothing to do with "freedom". Who is going to pay for the insurance policy and who is going to ensure those tandem passangers? There is no insurance company that would accept to cover that kind of risks. And if they get injured or die who is gonna cover their health costs? Again... It has nothing to do with "freedom".
  16. u don't need driving licence to drive F-1. That road is private property and you can drive/ride whatever you want.
  17. In my opinion the most of the routine deterioration comes from incremental drifts from the good routines which during the time leads to problems. When small incremental drifts are followed by environment change, like new DZ, new gear, new plane... what seemed "small" in the previous setting and therefore abandoned, may become the killer in the new environment. good routine is a life saviour. bad routine is a killer.
  18. from the video posted here it's obvious that the horizontal speed of this "tandem student couple" is not signifiant at all... There are several camera skydivers around them and they were able to follow this "wingsuit tandem" in sitting position. If they are so slow, what is the point of this wingsuit tandem joke?
  19. Let me sum up the possible solutions for preventing routine deterioration, also called drift towards failure: 1) Repeat reserve procedures regularly. For example, while in the plane climbing to altitude. 2) Hold safety meetings. This can be interesting socializing event as well. 3) Supervision. This is interesting one. I wonder if experienced skydivers ask others to check their pins for them? Or even to check their packing work or gear? 4) Refreshing training. This is somewhat similar to safety meeting whereby all theoretical stuff can be repeated again as well as harnass test, packing tests, theory test, etc. 5) Don’t deviate from procedures (e.g. hard deck) 6) Have checklists. 7) Boobies? Whatever it might be.
  20. as the time pass the humans show a tendence to neglect the details of the learned routines. Some small details are forgotten and routine is gradually changed. This fenomenon is visible not only in skydiving but in all human activities. In skydiving the routine deterioration may have significant impact on safety. What would you propose to prevent this from happening?
  21. well, it's certainly your perception. I wonder if your customers have the same opinion.
  22. i wonder if there are enough survivors to tell about the 3rd and 5th option...
