  1. Welcome back to the sport! Im a newcomer to it myself but I think is outstanding that you are coming back. There really is nothing like this in the world. You mentioned perris or Elsinore, are you doing to chicks rock in Elsinore?
  2. +1 for staying away from pine hills (it's locally referred to as crime hills) As well as some areas of casselberry should be avoided. Most of winter park and altamonte spring are pretty nice. I haven't heard of anything about that specific complex. I'm sure you can find some info about it online. A good rule of thumb is avoid east Orlando and anything near orange blossom trail (state road 441)
  3. Not sure if they have come out with a regulars computer program for this yet (I have it on my iPhone) but I heard that they were supposed to be but quick office connect works great and only cost about $10
  4. Yeah I know how that is. I got done with ground school today and couldn't do jump one today because of the wind. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow
  5. I think a lot of times there can be many factors that will determines if someone will jump or not. For example I fell into this category of "I really want to start jumping" about 6 years ago. Things just ended up working out where I had the money but not the time, the time and not the money, or I had both but was living in Connecticut and it was December. I am just now finally starting aff and would have loved to start it sooner but it's just one of those things where it can be somewhat difficult to get started in this sport.
  6. Tried to this morning by starting aff, then winds kicked up to about 20mph....oh well there's always tomorrow
  7. Hi and welcome to the sport! I'm new to it myself but yeah it is very addictive. I start aff Wednesday and can't wait. I've been killing the time waiting with tunnel time
  8. I have heard about stuff like that but never actually seen it. It seems extremely childish to me and a waste of time
  9. I think that on top of that there is a generalization that most people have of women that are forward to be easy and get with anyone. Most people like a little bit of a challenge because they think if it's a little more difficult then it would be difficult for other people, and the woman would tend to be more faithful. Not necessarily true but a generalization I know a lot of people make.
  10. I think you are taking my post the wrong way. I don't doubt the skills or knowledge that the guys at deland have nor do I plan on skipping any of it. I know there are a ton of aspects to this sport that I have not experienced and may not even realize since I have not started aff yet. I have no intention of having someone who I have met once come do this or try to skip anything I was simply curious about the idea since I had never heard of it before.
  11. Well I'm not saying you are right or wrong or I am rit or wrong. You can look at it a few different ways. While a more attractive woman may attract more men, they also attract different types of guys. Just like you said with the less attractive women overcoming self esteem issues some guys may do the same thing with a more attractive woman and not approach her thinking they don't have a shot. Or may think she is high maintenance/shallow and not want to waste their time. Now I personally don't go out of my way to try and find anyone. if I meet someone and we click then great, but i don't see the point in putting expectations or pressure on top of a situation where I don't really know someone. People are generally much different when first meeting then they really are
  12. I was still planning on doing that and was aware of the canopy flight of which I have no experience. I was really just more interested because I had not heard of anything like that before.
  13. I can understand the waiver argument but why then are kids of all ages permitted to fly in tunnels? Granted the waivers may not be the same but the parents still have to sign one for that....
  14. I think you are right but to a point. Statistically the more options you have the more likely you are to find what you want. With that being said I have noticed that a lot of time the more attractive a woman is they tend to get somewhat of an ego (depending on the person of course) and may overlook the perfect person for them simply due to a first impression. Just my .02 :)
  15. He said he used to be. Not sure for how long or how recently though
  16. Saw it Friday and was not impressed. I didn't know it was going to be set up similar to the whole blair witch style of shooting and the ending (or lack of ending) was very disappointing
  17. I grew up in Florida and while I never was chased by a gator we were always told to do that since gators are very fast but have a problem changing direction quickly while running like that
  18. So I was at the tunnel today and a guy in was talking with was telling me that if I had him come out and jump with me when I started my aff he could have me jump with just him instead of 2 instructors since I have a pretty good grasp of belly flying and complete multiple aff levels in one jump. Is this possible? I haven't heard of it before but if it's true could save me a lot of money
  19. Ok so I have 2 stories. The first one I was in Pensacola a few years ago and me and my girlfriend at the time ended up having sex on the ground in her apartment. I ended up getting a pretty bad case of rug burn on my knees. The next night we were at my hotel and didn't even think about it and once we got finished we noticed that my knees had opened up and the bed was covered in blood from it. It was a little embarassing to let the hotel know why I needed new sheets. The second I was about 16 ore 17 at some girls house hooking up in her basement. For some reason or another I decided not to wear underwear that morning (very bad idea). We were in the middle of going at it when we heard a door opening, which ended up being her dad coming home. In the mad rush or me to put my pants back on and rush out before he saw me there I ended up zipping up some stuff that should not have been zipped up. Very very painful lol
  20. Oh I know, I have gone before just never went on and got my license.
  21. Yeah I've been reading the sim constantly trying to learn as much as possible. Hopefully the weather is better next week then it was this week tho
  22. Finally got my AfF scheduled and I am starting Wednesday at deland. Although I do have to say the anticipation is killing me, hopefully I won't still be sore from the tunnel time by then.
  23. I went today and did ten minutes and I completely understand what you mean about flying flat. If I had any actual arch at all I was on the netting so in order to stay up I had to flatten out a lot. I learned a lot about how to actually control myself in the air though. It was a great experience and I have a whole new respect for how difficult it actually is control yourself. In glad I did it and have somewhat of a foundation to know what I will be doing once I am in the air
  24. That's extremely rare. Yeah I thought so too. I have always been somewhat of an adrenaline junkie and honestly I was more excited than anything. The plane ride up, before exit, during free fall, not scared at all. In fact just about everyone else on he plane was nervous and second guessing doing it and I was just hoping they would hurry up and get out foe the way so I could go.
