  1. I am going to try and make it out there seeing as how I'm moving just west of la around the 28th. I'm just getting into the sport now and don't have a rig yet....should I try and rent one for this and register for some stuff or no?
  2. Give it about a month and I will be another one of those
  3. I may start Friday but it depends on how things go. I am waiting in a check to hit my account if it is there by Friday I will go but if not it will definitely be there by Monday lol
  4. Funny you should mention that because I literally just got off the phone with sky venture Orlando reserving a time for next thursday. And hopefully will be starting aff the following Monday!
  5. Awesome thanks I was planning on 15 minutes prior to starting my aff and then maybe some more while I am going through it. I've heard there are differences between the two so I wasn't sure if doing too much tunnel time prior to actually getting up there would end up being a bad thing.
  6. Ok so I'm about to start aff and I know tunnel time will help tremendously. I plan on getting some before I start aff but how much time would really be appropriate before I start?
  7. I've worked with both and a lot of people would call me crazy but unless you are programming something extremely in depth I.e. Video games or something physics based then I would go vb all the way. It's easier to program, easier to maintain, manages memory automatically, and with the added control of adding pre-coded controls it's a no brainer.
  8. I plan to but due to how close it is I will probably jump at one and take random weekend trips up to other dz's.
  9. I think you are a little confused my name is Brandon not where I live lol I will be staying in Orlando when I go to deland
  10. Yeah everything sounds like it will be great! I was already planning on getting some tunnel time but right now I'm debating on getting it before I start aff completely or should I wait till I'm a little further through aff?
  11. Thanks for the link! It had a great amount of information although I didn't see anything about bringing a case or two of beer :)
  12. I'm moving about 45 minutes west of la to the Oxnard area so I will be doing my jumping at skydive coastal California once I am put there
  13. Ok so before anyone yells at me about this post I did do a search and couldn't find anything. I am new to the sport and will be starting aff in about a week. After my license is done I will be moving to California and because of this will be at a new dz with very little experience. Other than buying beer is there anything else i should do/expect being so new to the sport and to a dz where I don't know anyone?
  14. Unfortunately I won't be. I'm in ct right now and leaving Monday to drive down there. But I'm sure i will see you over the next couple of weeks. I'm planning on getting some tunnel time while I am down there too
  15. Lol that's the first time I have ever heard that joke......but on a more serious note not it will not. The move is only for a few years(I'm currently in the military and will be out there for about 3 years)
  16. Good luck on the first jump! I've done one tandem a few years ago and should be starting my aff course in a week or 2 and can't wait either. This sport is truly amazing
  17. So I will be getting my license at skydive deland starting in about a week/2 weeks and had a few questions. Has anyone been there and have any stories about the dz? And I will only be in town for about 3 weeks before I move to cali. Should I try to geet it all done during that time or wait till California and get it out there? The money isn't an issue and I will have nothing but free time while I am in orlando
  18. Hi I just wanted to jump on here and introduce myself seeing as I am new to the sport and will have many many questions. I am Brandon and I will be completing my AFF over the next few weeks at skydive deland in Florida. After that I am moving to southern California and will be jumping out there.
