  1. I'm heading to Elsinore tomorrow on my way out to the la area since skydive az is apparently closed Tuesday and Thursday. Would it be a better idea to leave early tomorrow and try and beat the night time la traffic or spend the night in Elsinore and get up early and beat the Morning traffic/wait till the morning rush is over?
  2. Well hopefully all is well and I dint think the heat will bother me too much, I grew up in Orlando and have been jumping out of deland and while it may not be as hot in fl vie hewed az doesn't have the 95% humidity which will be a nice change of pace
  3. Well I will get there tomorrow night sometime and crash for the nugget and get up early Tuesday. Do they generally have a good crowd on Tuesdays?
  4. Well, since you're going to VTU or thereabouts, you can actually miss the worst of it in the downtown area by going north of it on the 210. Timing is still tricky though since you'll be caught in traffic going west before noon to a certain point and beyond that it would be bad after noon. If you can plan on doing the section from Riverside to Ventura after about 7pm, you'll make much better time. I don't know if you have your rig with you, but if you stopped at say, Elsinore or Perris, made a few jumps until sunset and THEN left . . . I think you'd enjoy it more than sitting in traffic. Unfortunately I have not bought a rig yet so I would have to rent one but was thinking if stopping by Elsinore or perris on the way out, depending on what time I end up that way. Then I'll be in Ventura a few days and then back to elsinore for chicks rock next weekend. You should really stop at Eloy spend the night... then drive from there the next morning

  6. Actually I'm in Texas right now, stopped in San Antonio for the night and then back on the road tomorrow morning
  7. It actually may have been intentional. When I swerved out of the way he turned the same direction as me, missed me by about a foot. I'm going to Ventura and yes I have hear ALL about the traffic and definitely not looking forward to that
  8. Ok so I have seen some retarded people driving before but the beginning of my drive this morning takes the cake. I wake up, get a cup of coffee, get in my car and hop on I-10 in Mississippi on my way out to california. 10 minutes later (at 5:30am) I have to swerve across 3 lanes which luckily were empty, because there was a car coming head on at me on an interstate that is divided by concrete barriers, oh and I was on a bridge as well. I've never even heard of something like this happening or someone being that drunk that they could make that big of a mistake, any ideas?
  9. It's entirely possible to get that done, I started my aff there on September 3rd and I have my a license with 36 jumps all done at deland. It may be a little more difficult with all the Qatar guys doing aff as well but you should have no problem getting it done in 2 weeks. My aff took 3 days and another 2 weeks to get my a
  10. I was kinda thinking the same thing. I don't have a rig yet and have never jumped at Elsinore so I may not jump that weekend. I'm definitely going, in fact I registered today for it finally.
  11. I'm creating a kind of online log book type of thing as well as a bunch of other stuff. The domain I have registered right now is skydiverecords.com. Not 100% sure exactly everything I'm gonna have on it yet but it will all be free
  12. My first time in the tunnel I did a 10 minute session. It was split up with another guy doing 2 in and 2 out. That seemed to work perfectlyfor me and I progressed tremendously in that 10 minutes of tunnel time. With that being said I was sore for the next few days. The tunnel takes a lot more out of you than you would think that it does.I couldn't imagine doing 10 minutes straight.
  13. Ive never used Peter but have talked to a few people who have used him for tunnel coaching and heard nothing but great things and he is up at deland just about every day so you can go talk to him about it before hitting the tunnel. I have used Tom baker on a number of occasions and he was a great tunnel coach as well.
  14. That is a nice shot but I'm looking for in air pictures, maybe some rw or free flying
  15. It doesn't have to be a solo, in fact group pictures would probably be better
  16. So I'm creating a new site right now and am in need of some photos of people jumping, anyone willing to volunteer some photos for the site? It would be used for the banner on the top of the page and not just individually posting the photos
  17. Yeah there isn't much to work out now. I'm moving to cali on Friday so I won't be jumping there anymore and by the time I do jump there again I'll have my own gear
  18. Meeee too! I was having this discussion with one of my friends this week. The bad part for us FL girls is that we have to wait till November for it to start feeling like Fall. Sometimes its even longer than November. 2 years ago I threw a new years party in cocoa beach and it was 90 all weekend lol
  19. Do you have an iPhone? If so I saw this awesome so try on the news the other day about a program they have just for that(can't remember the name to save my life) but you can open it and view live streams from the camera at anytime as well as it would send a text message if it detects movement. The story was about a guy using it who actually sat and watched people rob his house while he was gone, and also watched them get arrested after he called the cops lol
  20. I actually completely forgot about costumes, I'm in the processing of moving right now and things are quite hectic, it's a futuristic theme right?
  21. Yeah like I said, I finished my a license today and vie only been jumping for a few weeks
  22. So this may sound like a stupid question but I haven't heard of it before, what is a pre-second jump?
  23. Yeah I have already got in touch with Mel about the excel camps and I am looking forward to that. I will be out there literally the week before chicks rock and was planning on going. I'm also thinking about doing some of the tunnel camps that they have over at perris
  24. More than likely perris and Elsinore since they are only about 1-1/2 hours from me, there is another dz closer(can't remember the name) but it's pretty much just tandems there from what I have heard. Ill probably jump at both perris and Elsinore till I get a feel for each of them and which I like better and then will probably do most of my jumping at one or the other.
  25. So I just got my A license today. The guys at skydive deland where great and I loved jumping there. Unfortunately I am moving to california in about a week and was wondering, what can I expect going to a new DZ just after getting my license? Here in deland I jumped with a lot of the more experienced jumpers during my progression to my a, so they had a good gauge of my ability, but at a new dz that won't be the case.
