  1. Buy your wife/girlfriend a bottle of Bronze Goddess perfume. It has coconut in it as well as other things that smell like sweaty sex on the beach. It is my favorite. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  2. It is totally dish soap in all our dispensers--just the eco-unscented kind--but, "dish soap" nonetheless. I buy a big thing of it and just refill everything to my heart's content. And by "I just refill", I mean I yell for Bill to do it; the jug is heavy and the holes are small. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  3. So, we will agree to have our own preference. But, how dedicated are you to yours? Do you have bar soap by every sink? What about your dishwasher? Your laundry? Do you plunge and scrub? Me, I have super cute dispensers featuring eco-unscented liquids. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  4. Interesting. I do not use much body wash at all. I do< however, use a lot of liquid soap to wash my hands but that is more due to frequency and not that I use any "more" to get a "clean feeling". I am curious about said "clean feeling". I have used bar soap at hotels (nice ones) in the past and afterward it definitely feels different than usual; like a "squeaky" clean. It is hard to describe. It does not bother me, but, I prefer my body wash. I have lovely skin either way. I am also curious about said packaging. Aren't they all individually wrapped and then bulk-wrapped in plastic? I do not know--have never thought to research such a thing--just curious. This is so interesting to me.
  5. I do not like heavy scents, either--cannot stand anything floral even if just a hint. But, now we have moved on to loofah discussion. Trophy seems fine with lathering his to wash his crack so long as the bar does not directly touch his crack and the loofah serves as the middle-man. Are hands gross to clean with? I wash with my bare fingertips. I wash my hair, my face, my body all with soap and hands. If I washed with a cloth or loofah I would need a new one for each occasion. I start with clean hands, and then move on to face, hair, body--in that order. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  6. Bar soap has no scent? I pay about $3 for St. Ives body wash. It last both my hunny and me a month. The cucumber-melon is my favorite.
  7. This thread has been interesting. I do not know anyone who has bars of soap anywhere in their house--least of all me. I had no idea anyone still used bars of soap. I do not even remember the last time I have seen a bar of soap. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  8. Green??? Then it is not Key Lime pie. Go down to Southern FL and order it, then ask the waitress why it is yellow instead of green. See what happens. (Speaking from experience here.) Um, real key lime pie is not yellow or green. It is more of a very-light-green-tinted-off white. Of course, I am talking about an actual pie. 9. I hate cake (always have), but enjoy pie. I love some pies--key lime is one of them. It has to be good, though. My favorite? Tough. I would have to say pumpkin
  10. No... Pure torture, is a rare opportunity to do beach jumps ALL DAY on the beach in our backyard and not be able to because one has back surgery scheduled. I was like, "Just do it; it's before the surgery, now is the time."
  11. I liked the "Where were you on Christmas?" answer. Not sure if she should be seated based on sense-of-humor, though. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  12. +1 as a sandwich with shiitake mushrooms, red peppers, onion & arugula + a dab of olive oil and soy sauce.
  13. I thought I would hate the movie... I did not.
  14. A strange movie to recommend, but worth a watch regardless of whether or not one has read the novel. (Edited for: Spoiler Alert.) I love the (surprise-to-me) appearance by Robert Duval (I knew him instantly--so excited), who--fun fact--also starred in the other film-based-on-a-novel by Cormac McCarthy (and a highly-recommended film by me
  15. Also, another option from Best Friends Animal Society is their Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets program. Fort Hood in Gatesville, Texas is the near-future home of the national office for events to support the troops, their families and their pets.
  16. Happy birthday, Karen! We miss you.
  17. Many corporations affected by the economy quit 401k-matching; mine did a little more than a year ago. Prior to that, I also always had various percentage-matching. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  18. You mean, like, what a resume might provide? At least for me and my friends, our resumes for our first out-of-college position did not simply consist of submitting a copy of our degree. Can you clarify, or do I understand your point correctly? "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  19. This seems to be your main point. From my perspective, your point pertains to a minimal percentage of college graduates, therefore making your main point rather moot. Do you have any evidence to suggest a large/r percentage of college students graduated via the means you suggest? "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  20. Or in some cases, worthy students are willing to accept a prodigious scholarship. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
