  1. I have a UT-15 manual (packing and using), if you want to pay for a photocopy. Oh, yes, it's in Russian. HW
  2. Dynex (BestBuy house brand) is o.k, but I find the Belkin one the best. HW
  3. Information about and registration for the 2011 PIA Symposium and Expo is now online here. The event will be held at the Silver Legacy in Reno, NV. Among the floor events -- a "Riggers' Rodeo," where riggers will compete for the fastest pack job. The newly-elected USPA Board will have its first meeting, and there will be a DZO conference. HW (wearing PIA hat)
  4. Roughly what he told me on several occasions. He did not go on the Peru trip -- health reasons -- but I know some of the others who did. I've been trying for years to get two of them to recall the story for Parachutist. HW
  5. Here's a news story about Dana Rutledge. The story of his death apparently spooked National Geographic into canceling a planned series of stories about parachute exploration (after the first one, about jumps into the Peruvian jungle.) HW
  6. It does power up and gives me the beeps. But then nothing else happens. I have to take the battery out to power it off. I'm waiting for a support call from GoPro. Let you know how it works out. HW
  7. I followed directions to the letter and it didn't work. Now my GoPro doesn't work either. HW
  8. Does this help? Snyder was in New Jersey most of the time, so Swarthmore PA was pretty early. But a manual, available through Amazon and others for $35, says Swarthmore. The Sentinel Mark 2000 control unit was a different shape, rectangular, but the explosive pin puller unit looks similar. SSE eventually withdrew them from sale to civilians. HW
  9. In good shape and ready to jump -- if I had a rig that would hold it. I had forgotten about the top skin-only ropes and rings. HW
  10. Joe Crane was inducted into the Parachuting Hall of Fame recently. No doubt this ad reveals his secret of success. HW
  11. Well, I tried to crop out all the tell-tale background, but... That's the one in my picture. HW
  12. This sign, now on display at a dropzone (not in Florida), will perhaps bring back some memories. HW
  13. As of February, Eloy had five Skyvans, one as a parts source, another used only for freight. (Pic of the part source attached.) Spaceland has two. DeLand has one (I jumped out of it last week.) There is also a Skyvan at Sky's the Limit in PA. HW
  14. I was and am in DeLand, helping with the Museum dinner stuff and even making a few jumps. Saw lots of people I haven't seen for a long time --Jerry Bird, Pink Floyd, etc. Pretty amazing. If you're there Sunday, go by the PIA/Museum exhibit; I'll be there if I'm not in the air. Or maybe in the Perfect Spot. Had a couple of nice chats with Joe Kittinger; he's a neat guy. HW
  15. On display in DeLand this weekend. HW
  16. I've found that this usually works: -Plug it into the computer; the red light comes on. -Turn the camera off; then turn it on again. The USB symbol comes on. As noted, if the battery is low/dead, you may have to wait until you have a partial charge. HW
  17. For the record, USPA had nothing to do with the selections. Though the Museum office is currently located in USPA HQ and the Museum site is next door, they are separate entities. HW
  18. In the Kingdome jump, the canopies were static-lined through a hole in the top of the roof, inflating as they emerged from it. This one is Dave Singer. I think it was done more than once. HW
  19. I have more than 500 jumps on a titanium hip. It's never been a problem. HW
  20. I have several of Daryl's articles and have meant to publish them here. Still might. HW
