  1. Cruel. Maybe the performance of a PC. I still have mine in the garage. I did a lot of jumps on it, initially with a hydraulic reefing system and later with one of the first sliders ever made. HW
  2. I jumped one in MA and also jumped with Dean in the really tight urban DZ in Delray. I remember a neat bar a few blocks from the DZ. HW
  3. He has two of his own, including the recent ""Catch Me if you Can." HW
  4. Nice pics (I have all of them) but only a limited amount of text/history. HW
  5. http://www.amazon.com/Parachutings-unforgettable-jumps-Howard-Gregory/dp/B0006C9LQG HW
  6. Google Howard Gregory and Bud Sellick. And, I guess Mike Swain. HW
  7. Hope to make it this time. Doesn't conflict with PIA or other stuff. HW
  8. Sure. Come to New England. HW
  9. That was Dean McLaughlin's rather tight DZ, right. There was a neat bar just down the street. HW
  10. Shawanga was the name of a DZ not so far from the Ranch where the runway went distinctly downhill, so you lost sight of the plane as it was taking off. That's probably where the chant came from.. HW
  11. Bring it to New England. I'll jump it a lot. HW
  12. Popp is still around and still jumping. I last saw John Coppe at the memorial event for Lowell Bachman a few years ago. HW
  13. The great Indiantown days were the late '60s, with amazing parties at the Seminole Inn. And don't throw your beer bottles out of the plane, but it's o.k. to throw cans, as long as you're sharing with the pilot. HW
  14. I am sorry to hear this. The ultimate cool guy. Did it yesterday. In the rain. HW
  15. This is just bad. I met Kevin at an Old Farts reunion and stayed in touch with him. I urged him (now too late) to write again about his many astounding adventures. HW
  16. A substantial number of these songs came from Orange., MA (my home DZ.) I knew a lot of the people who wrote them and sung them at the famous Inn at Orange. I'd really like to figure out how to preserve of these memories. Except maybe at Lost Prairie, skydivers don't to sing anymore. HW
  17. I have talked with both Laura Sharp at Parachutist and the Blue Skies folks about a story on songs over the years but they seem to balk at "Francine McFilthy, the Skydiving Whore," and a serious sociology story, "The Cock Choir." I might have to self-publish. HW
  18. SSK has one, displayed most recently at PIA in Reno. HW
  19. Dunno. Didn't know they did. Not much different from a Beaver, whiich I've jumped a lot back in the day. HW
  20. The AN-2 was a mishmash of Russian, Polish, Czech parts which the FAA didn't want to deal with. HW
  21. I spent a lot of time editing his book. He's working on two sequels; I hope his health holds out. HW
  22. I've never jumped there., but I've been there. I'm told by People In The Know that it's become a tandem mill. HW
  23. Yup. Sad. I'd like to jump it again but won't go to CK. HW
  24. I had a super-secret clearance and could only go on the troop train. I worked at Templeholf Airport Much later, I spent a lot of time in Berlin -- weird to go to places where I couldn't get near a buncho years years earlier. HW
