    Good Book

I've read everything by Christopher Moore. He is hilarious! His best book is 'Lamb'. It's the only book I've read more than once. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  2. Everyone is assuming drug overdose. I don't know... But I'm sure all the shit he did back in the day probably didn't help. He totally screwed up his life. Child stars... Never let your kid do movies I guess. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  3. Dead. Lost Boys is still an awesome movie. That is all. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  4. My girlfriend named her cat Cat Benetar. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  5. Here's mine. Can't see it all, but I like it. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  6. My addiction isn't that bad. But, If I'm not skydiving I'm checking my local DZ's forum, Dropzone.com forums, facebook, and weather.com.... I need to get a life. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  7. My girlfriend is great when it comes to me skydiving. She enjoys going to the DZ, catching some rays and reading a book. I tell her she doesn't have to go but she says she enjoys it. She hasn't jumped yet but I think I'll get her up this year. I think she would be great at it if she liked it. She used to do ballet and would be able to arch her ass off;) If not, she understands how much it means to me and would never be mad at me for jumping. Occasionaly I have to miss a weekend of jumping to do something she wants to do but I can handle that. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  8. Love it! AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  9. Great answer! AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  10. And that where the problem is as I see it. Neither activity is something that should be done on a causal part time basis. Both take very specific skills that need to be learned slowly and kept honed. Skydiving on the other hand you can get a little sloppy and usually get away with it. If it wasnt so the fatality rate would be close to triple digits every year. Sparky It's not that I want to do it on a casual/ part time basis. I just want to keep the swooping to a basic swoop and want to keep the BASE jumping simple jumps with out flips and stuff. I'd like to do both on a regular basis. 11. Can't argue with Nick! As far as my swooping and BASE goals go... I think they are reasonable. I'm not looking to make either one my ''thing''. I'd like to be able to do some basic swooping. As far as BASE goes... I just want to jump around where I live (Michigan) with my friends... Some free standers, bellu to earth, pilot chute in hand. 12. It was probably just friendly ribbing between two friends who have spent a lot of time of time together on the DZ, way before you showed up. To get proficient at either sport demands a lot of time, effort and money. Very few people have the resources to do both to a high level. BASE jumping is both more dangerous and more expensive. The gear gets hammered quickly and you can spend a lot on petrol for just one jump. Also, the last funeral I went to (BASE wingsuit) before I quit BASE cost me a lot - I wish it was only money. Now I'm learning to swoop - with some education, the right tools and a bit of planning you can manage the risks. I think you're right them messing with eachother. I believe BASE more dangerous also. I just wanted to get a discussion going. It's interesting. Plus I'm interested in eventually trying both out. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  13. What about the argument that the chances of being injured from swooping are greater due to having so many more attempts at it compared to the number of BASE attempts? So would it be fair to say that there is a greater chance of injury from swooping, but a greater chance of fatality in BASE? AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  14. I hadn't thought of that. The BASE jumper claimed that she didn't swoop because of how dangerous it was and the swooper claimed he didn't BASE jump because of how dangerous it was. I bet they were just hating on eachother because A) they were to scared to try it themselves or B) they just weren't interested. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  15. The only reason I ask is because the two skydivers that got me into skydiving were arguing over it one day. One swooped and didn't BASE. The other was the opposite. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  16. I had run into the same problem... They would say, "You're going to the drop zone again this weekend?" They weren't complaining when I was at the bar every weekend. If they don't get it... TOO BAD FOR THEM! AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  17. Do you think swooping or BASE jumping is more dangerous? AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  18. My Mom past away in January of 2009. She never got to see me fun jumping. She was there for my tandem in 2006 though. After my Mom died of cancer, my Dad asked me if I wanted to go skydiving again... of course I did! So last spring we started jumping together. My Dad made 8 jumps and I got my license. I'm hoping that he will make some more jumps this year. It would be great to make a jump with him. My Mom would have been worried about me, but I'm sure she would have been proud of me too=) She always said, "Live life to the fullest... Have no regrets." 20. A Serious Man is a seriously horrible movie. Do not waste your time. It has a worse ending than No Country For Old Men except there isn't an interesting movie before it. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  21. I had a similar experience on my first jump. I was looking at my altimeter but the numbers weren't registering. On the next jump I said the altitude outloud each time. That seemed to help. Also, making more than one jump a day helped me. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  22. did you visit the flying hellfish website? Or maybe visit skydive tecumseh's website and post something in their forums. I had to send in a card... But I got the card from Buba (I think he is one of the first 8 hellfish). AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  23. My girlfriend's cat is named Cat Benetar. But I suggest Joker, Snowball, and Cowboy.... Or Maverick, Goose, and Iceman or Finster, McMannis, and Verbal... AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  24. I couldn't agree more! It's the only thing that I can wake up at 630 am for... And not just wake up, I jump out of bed on the days I'm headed to the DZ. The smell of the air, the exit, the idea of it all, etc... It is truly the greatest thing in the world. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
  25. I'll start saving every dime now. Living near the only DZ in Jamaica doesn't sound too bad at all. I'll check out the fruit too. I'll need something to revitalize me after all the Red Stripe and Rum. AKA MG Hammer Flying Hellfish #834 Son's Of Bacon #1
