I'm not a skydiving instructor but I have taught other things. Is an instructors job to talk people into doing dangerous things??? I know alot about similes. did anyone even read my explanation of the event? What was the scam? I wouldnt say it was poorly planned. It was an impromptu boogie. I think it went well for two weeks of preparation. The movie is hillarious!! I assure that all negativity from this event was indeed caused by jumpdude and friends. Anyone that was actually there knows how ridiculous this is, and can see the lies that jumpdude and friends told the HS. you would be wrong. Here is the big question? If so many people think this was a scam then please tell me what the scam was? I attended the event and it was just a normal day of jumping. the only difference is that they had a after hours party where they shot a short movie about cat AIDS. A videographer was interviewing people and they were all hammered. They were taking orders for t-shirts. all and all I would say about 30 to 35 people were there. Hardly a news worthy event. The best thing about all this is the free publicity thier boogie has have gotten. Of course people who have a vendetta against the dropzone or its jumpers are going to spin it negatively. Hell they didnt even attend so how can they in good conscious claim it was a scam? Someone pointed out earlier that the event was only mentioned two weeks prior. that goes to show that it was all in fun. I assure you no one attended that event because they thought they were helping the HS. The people that organized the shirt sales (poorly I might add) mentioned they would donate the profits to the HS. They did that so no one person would be making money from it. It wouldnt be fair to the other organizers and they knew it wouldnt be enough money to be worth splitting among them. Instead they said they would donate it. They never figured on selling more than a handful of shirts because they knew about how many people would attend. Afterall, it was only advertised on myspace to people on thier friends list. get a life,.............or attend cat AIDS 09. Cats are still spreading AIDS, and people need to know!!!! The money will not be donated to the HS.

You see this is the problem. what is it you believe the people at that dropzone stand for? they are just a bunch of jumpers having a good time. Hate skyride all you want but why attack the jumpers and staff at a dropzone? those people have nothing to do with skyride. No real skydiver would want to see any DZ have trouble. this is OUR sport.......why would anyone want to start trouble within the sport and attack people they dont even know? the people at clarksville are super friendly, and they are just trying to build a fun DZ with a interesting environment. And yes maybe get the opportunity to enjoy the sport that they love and share it with others in the TN, Ky area. They might be misunderstood sometimes and a little bit lazy but they are as good of people as anyone else out there. Attacking that DZ, its staff, and its jumpers is in no way productive in your protest of skyride. Skyride could disappear tomorrow and that DZ would still be there. And vice versa. By attacking people you have never met and a DZ that you have never visited only shows your ignorance, irrationality, narrow mindedness, spiteful nature, and lack of class. A sick sense of humor is better than totally lacking a sense of brotherhood, respect for others rights, freedom of expression, and general support for fellow skydivers. I bet not a single person that has bashed the DZ in this thread, has even been to visit. Nor have they met the very people responsible for what they are just assuming is a scam. This alone speaks for the intelligence and respectability of the people making these slanderous post.

I wouldnt say we enjoy it so much. It just seems to suit us. I think we represent what the skydiving community should be like. a bunch of fun loving jokesters that like to hang out with their buddies and create a comical inviting atmosphere. It was not hard to find, all anyone had to do was google it and your Myspace and Facebook pages came up. No problem. "deflect, divert, distract, decieve", That's the sLyride way! yea the fact that you googled us is whats wierd. and that last line of yours....well thats exactly what you did to our event and our jumpers whos myspace pages you manipulated for the humane society.

the event was planned spur of the moment. It was two weeks from concept to event. It wasnt created as a fundraiser for the humane society. the idea to donate proceeds from the t- shirts wasnt even thought of till a few days prior. Future divot was right. It was really just done in fun and was suppose to be a comical event. Jumpdude twisted it and told many lies. including stalking myspace pages of our jumpers then creating a crazy bunch of stories to tell the humane society. The money was late coming because of complications with getting the t-shirts printed. Thats a long story and involves the personal life of the person that was handling it. The dropzone nor any of its jumpers were ever contacted by the humane society until after the donation was made. Apparently they had been upset about it because of all the lies they had been told but had not said anything to us till we made the donation. Which they initially accepted then only later mailed it back. Who would of thought that a small event that was only advertised on myspace to less than 100 friends would have caused such a big stink. Only jumpdude would be lame enough to take the effort to try to spin that in a negative way. For a person that bad mouths skyride for lying, he sure doesnt mind lying about the activities of others. I would like to say thank you though. because of his efforts our boogie is still being talked about 7 months after the event. Hell it made front page news!! We couldnt buy that kind of advertising. Now he is still crying about it on here. AWESOME!!! only 5 more months till the next cat AIDS boogie. thanks for the attention Jumpdude. On a side note: The options for this poll are probably the most random nonsensible assortment of options I have ever seen. And......cat AIDS boogie has nothing to do with skyride and the clarksville dropzone is not skyride.
